Morning sickness.
posted 28th Jul '12
I'm finding it so hard to cope with morning sickness.
It started at 5 weeks, and I'm now 10 weeks.
I thought it was over, because I had two days of feeling great and not throwing up at all, then yesterday I was sicker than ever.
I can't eat anything and I'm scared that I'm harming my baby by not being able to keep food in my stomach.
Today I'm just in bed, I've just thrown up the smalk amount of food I ate, and I just feel so weak and dizzy.
Does anyone know what could help?
I'm so desperate.

sorry no nothing helped with me, just try and keep your fluids up so you dont get dehydrated. baby should be fine, my friend had morning sickness everyday up until her baby was born.
i had it and it would go for a few days then come back, by 12 weeks it was more just nausia then by 16 weeks gone completely, it will probably go after your 1st trimester when your hormones calm down. try nibbling on crackers and eating 1 or 2 before you actually get out of bed in the morning,

I had morning sickness every single day from 4 weeks on. It got so bad that I got fired from my job because I couldn't work (in a deli) without being sick from the smells of the food. I drank a lot of ginger ale, ate a lot of crackers (puked them all up though) and finally my doctor prescribed me some medication for it. I can't remember the name of it though, but it worked wonders, but cost an arm and a leg. Almost $50 every two weeks. Hope you feel better soon!

Lemons, Canada dry ginger ale, saltine crackers.

My doctor prescribed me Pramin, but it doesn't do anything.
I have 2 crackers every morning and sometimes it helps.
I'm allergic to ginger and lemons.
I eat allot of watermelon and cucumber because it's so hydrating.
Potato cakes helped a bit, but anything oily just makes me gag.
My mum had morning sickness for six months straight, I'n just praying mine goes away soon.
Poor fiance has no idea what to do.

You need to tell your doctor you would like to try Zofran.
Instead of your prenatals, take two flintstone vitamins a day.
Try to eat on cold icy pops and stay hydrated. Being dehydrated can make m/s worse than it should be. It is also VERY easy to become dehydrated if you are pregnant, especially during the hot summer.
Buy some big lemon drops at a candy store ((usually there is one in the mall.)) They basically work at "preggy pops." Stick one in your mouth if you feel sick.
Keep sick bags, gum, and wipes in your car, just in case.
Eat small nibbles of food throughout the day. Don't force yourself to eat. The baby will get all it's nutrients and food off of you whether you can eat or not. By eating, you are replacing vitamins and nutrients back in your system, so eating is only helping you out more in the long run.
I found eating cold things settled my stomach better and I could only eat a meal in the evenings compared to when I first woke up. If needed, keep a bland diet for a while....ex. Chicken Broth, Rice..

Zofran? I'll ask about it.
I heard that accupressure bands worked but I have no idea where to get them from.

Do you live in the US?
I bought mine by asking the pharmacists inside of Walmart for them. They are pretty much sweat bands you put on your wrists with little balls on them to push on your wrists. I believe they are called "Sea bands." I can tell you that they didnt do anything to me. I stopped wearing them after a week. If you think they may help, try doing it to yourself when you are feeling sick and see if it relieves it. Push two inches about wrist crease on the inside of the forearm.

Zofran works like a charm and so does promethazine they gave that one to me cause my nausea/vomiting isn't as bad as it was between 5-16 weeks. My poor hubby tried everything possible but nothing worked. But now I'm doing much better

call your doctor about it. i started getting sick around 6 weeks and i still get sick at 25 weeks. looks like i'll have this til the baby comes. my doctor perscribed zofran. take it before you go to sleep and as soon as you wake up. it worked for me for a while but it seemed like my body rejected it after a while and it wasnt as afftective. sip gatorade or something to keep you hydrated and as soon as you can eat some saltines or dry toast or rice.

I had morning sickness through out my entire first trimester. But it ended after that. Don't think mine was ever as bad as yours. I got dizzy if I stood up too fast but if anything you should just call the nurse hotline, or your doctor and ask what you can do. My friend was also having a hard time keeping things down for awhile, it turned out she was just really stressed. But, every woman is different. I wish you the best and hope you get to feeling better. Pregnancy is a beautiful thing sorry you're having such a bad time with one of the crappy parts! ):

I hate to say it. But I was sick with my baby boy for 9 months staright. The feeling never went away. It started at 10 weeks and lasted until the day of my c section. I also had 2 daughters and I wil NEVER sick like I was with my boy. I had the metal taste in the mouth too. I tried everything and was desperate. Here are some things you could try, even though they didn't work for me. Peppermints, Lemon heads, B6, wrist bands, ginger capsules or ginger tea, crackers, lemonade, peppermint oil helped a bit under my nose. I tried medication from the dr. and that didn't help either. Good luck!
