re: I hate being treated differently.

I had my first son at 19 years old and I do look young for my age, but I always had a hard time and got treated differently. I even have had comments and it pisses me off. The parents are never really friendly in his class. I was 24 when I had my 2nd son and I feel like its different parents were more friendly. I am now almost 28 and I have an 8 1.2 year old who is almost my height and I always get horrified looks from poeple and they always assume my mom(who also looks younger for her age) is the parents of the kids. I just shrug it off and say YES, I know I look good for my age. Its annoying especially the parents at my sons school. Some of them are very rude.

I was 20 when I had my son and got judged TERRIBLY..and treated like an idiot in the hospital. I'm 25 not and still feel the same way. Meh. But whoever said that a lot of mothers (old and young!) leave their kids with THEIR parents and go off partying...my mother was 19 when she had me and she let her mother raise me...then blamed her mother for 'stealing' me...I'm sorry but when you leave your newborn with your mother and never come around...that's NOT stealing..my mom has told me NUMEROUS times that she never got to see me walk or crawl...well smurf...I was 8 months old and walking, so where the smurf was she? Ugh. I don't talk to my mother anymore for various reasons, but she has ALWAYS said that she 'didn't have much of a childhood because she had her kids young" well...19 is young but its not THAT young...thats her excuse in life...she now is 44 and is a man chaser, not giving two smurfs about her kids or grandkids. She hates me (she told my sister) and can't stand to be around my son because she hates me and he reminds her of me...what a wonderful parent! and she wonders why I won't let her see my kid or don't talk to her...hmmm...

anyway, old or young, you're a momma. My one sister is 23 and has two kids - 10 and 7 and she's an amazing momma. Not a teen mom though...cause she's not a teen anymore haha. Just wait a few years.  

I personally wish I could've had kids earlier than 20...I know it sounds crazy, but I look at it this way - when my sister's kids are grown up she'll be in her 30's! That's freaking awesome! lol.

I totally understand girl. I hate the looks i get when me and my little man go out to the store and stuff. they always act like there waiting for me to drop him or give him something thats bad for him....

I think everybody stereotypes and its just your job to proove them wrong. 1m 19 with a 2 month old, but so far i havent experienced any negativity with me being a teen mom. Nothings wrong with being on welfare especially if your all alone in taking care of your child and have nobody to babysit while you work. It is only wrong to be on welfare if your an older mom, i mean you should have your life together by then, but nobody expects you to have everything figured out so young. If someone thinks negaative of a young mom than there just being judgemental and believing stupid stereotypes. Who cares what they think! everybody is going to judge people on things about them, as long as you know your doing whats right then who cares what they think. and if people are saying things like that when you post a picture of u and ur child then they arent real friends and shouldnt even be close enough to you to see those pictures   know what i mean?
