I think my water broke...

I was about ready to go to bed when all of a sudden a gush of fluid just came out from down there. Did my water break? I am having no pains or contractions, but I am leaking now.

Could be labor. When are you due?

Often, the contractions come later. Try to get some sleep and if nothing happens within 16 hours, it's probably time to call your OB.

August 5th, I am 38 weeks & 5 days today

Yeah, 38/5 is definitely labor territory. Very exciting. Anyway, try to wait it out, sleep, eat, relax, and see what happens by tomorrow afternoon.

August 5th, it was clear and had white pieces in it.. The leaking has like little spots of blood in it.

It sounds like it could be your water. You may want to think about going in. Because if your water did break and you don't go in soon enough, a infection could set in.

I'd wait a little while, like until you wake up in the morning and see if you get any contractions. If not then I would call your OB and tell them, especially if you are continuing to leak.

That's what my mom said, but I don't want an infection to set in.

i would call the labor and delivery and ask them what they think i was told if my water breaks to get my butt to the L&D asap. but my first labor was way fast.

I'm not having any contractions or pain though.. Should I still call?

No. You can wait up to 24 hours, but a lot of doctors say 16 hours w/water broken and no contractions is the time to call.

Is just go in u don't want to lose all fluid and have a dry birth or emergency c section for any compilations be safe and go

I would call. I didnt feel anything until i was 8cm. Who knows how far you really are. Good luck
