34 weeks contractions

I don't know what is going on. I started having contractions today went into labor & delivery was monitored and was in fact having contractions but they said they weren't changing my cervix yet and was sent home. I am trying to see if anyone else has been going through this because i'm still having them and am worried how am i suppose to know if they start changing it or am i suppose to just wait for the baby to come. does anyone think even having these contractions if they stay doing it can i still make it to atleast 37 wks im scared im going to have her to early.

Did the hospital contact your obgyn or you call obgyn on call? When i went into preterm labor and kept having contractions i was put on vistoril, procardia, and another med i cant remember to stop contractions

My doctor is out of town this week so they called the doctor taking over for her while she's out but they said to just send me home i guess.. I know with my son when i went in having contractions like this they gave me something to stop them but this one didnt

If it doesnt slow up then u might have to go back and tell them whats up and you want ti talj to obgyn when they call

I will wait and see if they slow down if not i will go back i really dont want to go back if all they are going to do is look at me like im crazy cause they just sent me home earlier.

Thats what they get paid for and if its making you concerned and hasnt stopped all them and see what they say.. theyll tell u to come in

I went to L&D for pre eclampsia symptoms at 34 weeks, & i was having contractions on the monitors.
They ended up trying to induce me that night due to pre eclampsia with Cervadil, & they checked me before they put it in i was only a fingertip dilated, so my contractions weren't really changing my cervix either..
But then again, after 12 hours of cervadil, i still only dilated to 1 centimeter..

You could be just having contractions that won't change anything yet!

ok thank you im hoping thats the case its just contractions that wont change anything because im still having them today as well but they aren't as bad as yesterday. I have a Dr. appointment on tuesday so i will see then what my Dr. says i just don't trust hospital staff to much..

some hospitals don't stop labor at 34 weeks
before 34 weeks, sure, they give you meds. after 34 weeks they just let you deliver

But i don't understand. why would they let you deliver at 34 weeks that's premature. I can see at 37 weeks letting you go but 34 weeks the baby can still be in nicu for a little bit right? That just don't seem right to let you deliver a premature baby when they can prevent it. Anyways I went to the doctor today and she said im only dilated to a 1. So i guess my next question is I never dilated with my boys till they induced but this one she seems to be working it herself. The Dr. also said she is still high up and when she drops it will help me dilate more. Thank you all for your replies

My question was if i'm already dilated to a 1 can it take awhile to dilate or will it go quick I'm wanting to at least wait till i'm 37 weeks
