Found out a bit more information :(

The coroner's weren't able to tell if the punch to his face is what caused him to wreck (either causing him to go unconscious while driving, brain hemorrhage, etc). What they did find out is there were two possible causes of death. He didn't have his seat belt on, so when he went off the embankment, his body smashed against the steering wheel and broke 8 ribs, one of which punctured his heart. OR, after he hit the steering wheel, his skull cracked on the roof... causing his neck to break  

Either way, death was instantaneous. So no suffering, which I am absolutely thankful for. He was an amazing man. And his family will miss him every day<3

My uncle. He broke up a fight at a bar on Saturday. Drove home... and went missing. They found his truck early Monday morning, and his body was 30 yards from the crash site. We thought the punch to the face (which broke his nose) might've caused a concussion or something, and caused the wreck. But the damage was to severe to tell  

im glad you are getting some closure, knowing he didnt spend hours suffering-that has to be a huge relief.

That was the hardest part   We know how he died... but we'll never know why. but I guess that's a part of death  

It was scary at the get together we had after the burial. The bar they used to frequent, shut down for the day and catered family/friends... all for free. Well, a woman passed out and was unresponsive. She wasn't drinking, but she went so white, and her eyes rolled in the back of her head. It wasn't good seeing as how we had just left a funeral   My aunt was torn up.

do you know if he would even be charged with murder/manslaughter considering your father wasnt wearing a seatbelt, and the cause of death was impact?

I mean, its super sad, and im very sorry....
but that other person would still only be charged with assult right?

The guy would've been charged with murder if the coroner was able to determine that my uncle passed out due to losing consciousness from being punched, before wrecking. But... my uncle's body was too badly damaged. There was too much damage to see if that one punch caused anything. So, sadly... we'll never know.
