She did good

My daughter had her surgery yesterday. It went so well. Unfortunately I decided to get the flu today so I can't go see her, but I am just so happy that she's ok.

Glad it went well & sorry you can't go see her. What did she have surgery for if you don't mind me asking?

She had what's called a duodenal atresia. It's a common thing in babies that have down syndrome.

I'm feeling a little better, but I'm not gonna chance it. I can't be getting her sick especially after surgery.

Ah, I see. I was wondering because not too long after my nephew was born he went through a surgery to reconstruct part of his lip & nose. He was born with a cleft lip

awww. I'm glad she's doing well. It's so heartbreaking to see babies with tubes and stuff like that

It was more extensive then they thought it would be so instead of feeding her in a week they are going to wait to feed her for 2 more weeks. Giving her time to heal. Next year she will have to have heart surgery. Then everything will be fixed.

I get to go see her today. I just have to wear a mask. I miss her so much. But they said she is doing really well dealing with the pain.
