Echogenic Foci on Fetal Heart

AKA (calcification). I had a Level 2 Ultrasound today at 19 weeks 2 days because my blood came back with a 1/200 risk for Downs. Everything was normal on my baby except for the small calcification on the heart, which they say can be a marker for downs. But normal healthy babies get this as well. So my chances for my baby having downs is minimal. They said based on my age alone there's a 1/1,100 risk for downs, from the Level 2 Ultrasound they gave me a 1/571 risk, and my blood work is what is causing red flags, the 1/200 risk. Even with the 1/200 risk, that's still only a 0.5% risk, which is really tiny. But did any of you other women have a baby with calcification on their heart? They said it can go away by itself or it can get bigger, if it gets bigger is when it causes a problem. Please let me know, thanks!

But were you blood screened for your baby having downs syndrome and had a risk also?

I am not doing the blood test for that exact reason. I can't handle worrying for months and everything being okay. If I have a baby with Downs then we'll be okay. There are SO many worse things that can happen to baby.

The blood test for downs produces plenty of false positives. only 3-5% of the results come back positive, and about 10% of those positives truely ARE postive. Relax momma,Most likelybaby is fine, and stressing out isnt good for you or baby. The only way to know for sure it to do an amnio. Talk to your doctor about this if you are truly worried.

oo no my blood test didn't come back like that but everything else they told me the same thing. n they told me since I was 16 it increases the chances.. but he is perfectly fine now... there are a lot of false positives so try not to worry urself too much.. I know its hard but u stressing makes ur baby stress

Oh I'm not so much stressing anymore after I saw the Ultrasound today. I was just curious if anyone else had a baby with calcification on its heart and if it went away before birth or after birth. Thanks for the help ladies!
