I dont want to stop BF and have to put my baby on formula   I have tried almost everything to increase my milk supply. I'm taking brewer yeast pills, eating a crap load of Lactation Cookies and drinking a lot of water and Mothers tea and it still feels like my milk supply has not increased  ...how do i know if my baby is eating enough and he has not taken a poop for 2 weeks now.

Call a LC. They will help you with your supply & support. As for your Baby not pooping for 2 weeks, I would have called the peditrican after not pooping for 1 day. Do you have a good double electric breast-pump you can pump every 3 hours and that will help boosting your supply. How often do you nurse?

You really need to talk to someone about your baby not pooping for 2 weeks!! Like...asap. There's no way to tell you're producing enough except by wet and dirty diapers and if your baby isn't losing weight.

How old is your baby? Your boobs shouldn't feel hard or full after a while my boobs have gone back to the normal saggy boobs lol but they r still full of milk. The only time they get hard is when my daughter hasn't eaten in over 6 hours.

never mind i just saw how old he is the same as my daughter. Try using a pump to see how much comes out. the pump never gets as much as your baby will though but it would be nice to re-assure yourself

Don't worry. Its normal for a breastfed baby to not poop every day. If his tools are not hard and dry, then he's not constipated, and some breastfed babies only poop once a week, and that's still normal.

If he doesn't poop after one whole week, I would call the doctor, but I wouldn't panic. My daughter had the same problem sometimes, but the doctor said that she was alright. Sometimes nursed babies just don't poop as much.

Of course, every baby is different, and some nursed babies do poop a lot, but mine didn't, and it is normal for them not to. http://www.babycenter.com/404_how-many-times-a-day-does-a-breastfed-baby-normally-poop_8832.bc

Nursed babies don't always poop everyday. Some do, but many don't. I wouldn't be worried unless it had been more than a week because that's how long they can go and have it still be considered "normal" without checking on it. However, my daughter did go longer than one week a couple of times, and she was alright.

The best way to tell if the baby is getting enough to eat is to weigh the baby. Many doctors and hospitals will let you come in to use their scales to make sure that your baby is gaining weight. When we took our daughter home from the hospital, they told me that if I ever was concerned about her eating enough,, I could bring her back just to weigh her.

Agreed!! Normal adults need to see someone when they dont' poop for 2 weeks, why have you waited so long for your poor child??!
