re: TTC within the next year anyone?

I have an appointment to have my IUD removed on the 14th, so excited....

My daughter is 13 months and we are currently trying to conceive #2

Me too lol! I don't know if I'd want them this close in age but honestly I would be so happy if we did get pregnant again soon. I would be nervous though because my son is more likely to have a learning disability due to his hospital stay at the nicu (he was on an ecmo machine). So we won't know if he has anything going on until about 18 months.

Awe I'm sorry you are having to go through that   I can't imagine. I hope everything turns out good for you and your family! I have no children yet so I'm ready to have a baby! haha  

Thank you. He is doing great so far. I'm working a lot with him everyday. That's why it is so hard to determine when we should have our second little one. Oh and that will be our last too lol no more than 2.

Can I ask you a question? (if it were you in my situation)....I am debating on whether to have baby #2 before I start my career which would be next August/September or wait until after I have been established? I am a stay at home mom right now. I want our kids close, we are only having 2 babies. It's hard to decide because of the whole career aspect. OR I could get pregnant right away once I start my job, but I don't know how they would feel about it. I am going to school for school counseling btw.

My son was 2 in April and we've started trying for #2. Finally my roommates are moving out of my house and we are ready for #2.


Depends on how far you want you kids apart. I wanted them about three years apart which is why I'm trying now. Do you want kids closer together or an extra year apart?

I would go between 15 months-2.5 years apart. I don't want them more than 2.5 years apart though, and by the time I start working again my son will be 16 months old. So I can either get pregnant again soon and finish my degree while pregnant, or get pregnant around the time I start a new job. I just don't want to risk my job by getting pregnant (if I get hired right away after graduating). But I know I'll be working in the school district and most teachers and counselors get pregnant anyway throughout their careers there.

I start college in October but only have to go for a year, if I could I would get pregnant while going to college, so I can get what I want sooner! haha (I'm very impatient) It really just depends on if you are ok with the age difference that you want them to have. I'm 22 months younger than my sister and we would always fight but we are best friends now. I am 7 years younger than my brother and feel like I barely got to know him before he got married at 20. IF you start trying now and get pregnant and finish up school then you won't have to worry about making a new job wait, but if you do finish school and then get a job and get pregnant when you first start if won't be a big deal I don't think. (But im not sure) If you start a new job at the beginning of the year don't the school year only last about 9 months? I know around here it does. So you could try and get pregnant at the beginning of the year and have the baby the next summer. (only if it works that way and you get pregnant right off the bat!) I hope this all made sense!

Yes if I got pregnant when I first start the job, or a few months after, I would be due in the beginning of summer. I would be on medication (I have pcos so my cycles are so irregular, I would be on metformin for that) so I would definitely get pregnant the first month or two. I got pregnant with my son on it after taking it for only two weeks. I don't really care if we had a baby before I start my job or not, but I definitely want them 2 years apart, give or take. Thank you for your input! I just don't want to look bad at the start of my career ya know? It is really important for me to have our kids close in age. My husband and I agreed that as soon as I can lose the rest of my baby weight we can start talking about baby # 2.
