Breastfeeding question

posted 27th Jul '12
I have a 7 week old who I'm EBF. She sleeps 8-10 hours through the night. Usually from around 11pm-8am or so. She gets up and I nurse her but then throughout the morning she will want to nurse once an hour or so.

I also see a therapist every other week for anxiety and past addiction (I've been clean 6 years). I see her today at 11 and I bring my little one since I'm BF. I plan on bringing my boppy cover and feeding her during the session if I need to. Do you think this is inappropriate? I plan on doing it regardless of the answers since it's my baby and I have the right to feed her but I just want to know people's opinions. I saw her once before 2 weeks ago with LO but LO was sleeping the entire time.
Also, my therapist is female.

Absolutley not. Regardless of where you are, baby needs to eat!

Thanks for the replies!

When I went 2 weeks ago, I told her (my therapist) that she likes to eat often in the morning and she goes "well are you giving her formula too?" and when I said no, she told me that maybe I should because that could be why she's hungry often in the morning
My baby is a CHUNK and is NOT going hungry. She sleeps 8-10 hours and has gotta make up for that time!

She has absolutely no right to tell you how to feed/parent your child. That would irritate me so much.

Trust me, I was irritated! She's not my kid's doctor so she didn't need to make that comment.

She is probably just repeating some smurf someone told her. My LO is the same age and EBF. And he is fussy in the morning too. He doesnt sleep through the night but he eats less.....so he is making up for lost time.
As for the original question, go ahead and nurse her. The more women nursing in public, the more accepted it will become. HOPEFULLY.
