After already being in labor for more than twenty four hours my water finally broke. I go into a or and delivery and was finally, after three weeks of being at 2 cm, at four centimeters. I had told my doctor I would like a natural birth, they respected my wishes and didn't offer me anything. It took about twelve hours to get to seven cm I was having very irregular contractins anywhere from two to ten minutes apart, I couldnthandle the pain anymore and got an eppi. Everyone was telling me that they were surprised I made it that long without one! After I got the eppi, it slowed down my progress ALOT so unfortunantly they had to give me a small dose of pictocine well I fall asleep next thing I know at around five I get my cervix checked and I'm fully dilated, so about an hour went by and it was finally time to push the nurse and I started to push than had to stop cause the baby was almost crowning and the doctor wasn't there! We ended waiting for twenty minutes with no doctor. Finally she got there and ten minutes later my baby son is on my chest. =]

Wow, just wow. When I had my daughter I pushed til she came out, the doctor was not there. In face he was on his way but 3 pushes and my daughter came out. Once she was on my chest the doctor walked in and said "my job is done, we already have a baby" then he laughed. I couldn't wait that long and that's weird they would make you wait so long to push, that could be harmful and he could get an infection. Hope you and your baby are doing well.

We're doing great, he's perfect. The only thing that was wrong with him from sitting in the canal for so long was that he had a 5 cm swollen spot on his head. We've been lightly massaging it and its gone now. =]

my baby was born on the 26th also and same thing happened with the doc, baby was right there ready to be born and had to wait 20 min for her to get there! it hurts so bad to try to hold a baby in, and she had a bruise on her head where she was trying to push out

My son had a bruise on his eye, it looked like he got sucker punch in the face! it's finally going away now. =] Luckily because i had just gotten the epi, i didn't mind waiting i wasn't even feeling the contractions all i would feel was a little more pressure in that "region." They had to tell me when to push, haha.
