Weird bites?

posted 27th Jul '12
I was wondering if anyone knows what this could be or if you can relate at all?

I've been getting bites all over me, they seem like bug bites. They appear in the same areas and I get a couple of new ones every day. I thought we had bed bugs at first but we don't. Then I thought fleas, and I think I've seen one or two in the past couple weeks, but I've been getting so many bites that I don't see how it could be that.

They pop up all over my feet and ankles and I have a few on my legs. I have tons on my tummy in the same areas near my hip bones. Some on arms too. Usually when I get a mosquito bite, it stops itching after a few days. These will itch and itch until they are completely gone. It's just weird.

I'm the only person in the house who is getting this. There are four other people, including my husband who shares a room/bed with me.

Pregnancy thing or something else?

My son has the same issue... Hes 7. There are 7 of us in the house and he was the only one getting this. The dr said its hives. He has a prescription for benedryl and its helped him to the point that he doesnt even get them anymore.

Hmm this seems a little weird. I had PUPPS when I was pregnant and had what look like bites or a rash all over my stomach. It didn't start to spread until after I had my daughter. Mine never went away though. I can tell you it was miserable and nothing helped the itching. Not sure if you have that or not but I pray for your sake you don't.

Hmm interesting. I will ask my doctor about it next time I go in. It's been bothering me so bad, I wonder if I'm just allergic to something? It's only been happening for the last few weeks so maybe a new laundry detergent.

I heard about this and read something about it, but it said it starts inside stretch marks? I have no stretchmarks but it still sounds just like what I am going through. Idk, I have super sensitive skin so I suppose it could be anything.

Thats what the dr said about my son... And im in the process of switching his clothes to the free and clear. It can take a few loads before the det is out completely. And ur suppose to run an empty cycle of bleach in your washer before washing ur clothes... To get the residue out. Hope this helps! Oh! Try to get an anti itch cream. I actually used a poison ivy cream on him on night and it helped his itching

I will say yes it did start in my stretchmarks. But when it spread it was just on my normal skin no stretchmarks at all. I would ask your doctor for sure.

With pregnant skin who knows!! Im so sensitive to everything right now that if I brush up against something rough I itch. I get sunburned really easy too and I have darker skin. Def not normal skin behavior for me!! I too would guess laundry soap. Wouldnt hurt to get something gentle and ask your Dr. I always use free and clear and have washed all the baby stuff in baby soap. Maybe even use Dreft. Also 2 rinse cycles to get all your old soap out. Hope you figure it out cause that sucks to itch.
