Found a Lump

Hubby found a lump in my daughters neck today   so scared, shes not been herself all week, tired constantly, went swimming on tuesday shes usually such a water baby she wouldnt let go of me or my sister   Whingy crying all the time, dont know what to expect got doc appointment in an hour ......

Where is the lump? Are you sure it's not a swollen lymph node?

not sure, its on the side of her neck not like a gland or anything   my sister had a huge lump when she was younger had an op to get rid of it, its bigger than a pea but not like a ball or anything.....

Is it under her ear at her jaw? Mine swell up all the time. And they hurt!

No, its on the side of her neck and it doesnt hurt her she just doesnt like being poked about haha x

Hmm. Then I'm not sure. I've always got at least one node swollen. Freaked my mom out when I was little when the ones under my chin swelled up lol

I hope it turns out to be benign. Must be scary!

My nephew kinda has the same thing. It kinda looks like a knot behind his ear and his docs said as long as its not bothering him, they dont see much concern. Try not to worry too much. It could just go away on its own.

i found a lump in my 13 week olds neck theres actually 2 now but i was told its a swollen lymph node apparently quite common because they can swell up when a child is under the weather.
is it sort of soft?

It was just a gland - apparently they go all the way from under the chin/ears down the side of the neck then up the back :S but she said not to worry and keep an eye on it
