My two year old barely talks?

Hes 29 mos. He has about 25-35 words and doesnt use daily not very clear and only says 2 word phrases and not many right there and the baby. He says alot of uh uh uh huh mm like hes saying a whole sentence. I have a speech assessment the 24th. What do you think? Also hes very understanding of what i say or ask honestly probably better than a 3-4 yr old. Tia!

My baby is a little over 2 and she doesn't talk much we all know she can talk she just doesn't want to. Good luck though

My friends son is like this. But he was a preemie so idk if that has something to do with it. I know some babies just talk more than others so hopefully that is all it is.

My 2 yo niece is the same way. When she is at home she has maybe 5 words that she will say. When she is with me she is about 10 times as vocal. Ive gotten her to say so many new words when I have her but the min she goes home she wont use any of them. Its very frustrating but on the plus side she comprehends what we say to her its just hit or miss if she chooses to acknowledge what is being said to her. A speech therapist could be a good idea but in the end your LO when become more vocal when he is ready and not a moment before then.
