Ovarian cysts

Have you had them? What can be done?
I went to the Dr. today because I have been having really bad abdominal pain for the last week and couldn't feel my IUD strings. Good news, my IUD is still there. But he thinks I have many ovarian cysts and some of which might have burst already and he wants me to get an ultrasound to get it checked out.
Ever since he did the pelvic exam though my pain has extremely intensified  
I was told a while ago the on;y "treatment" for ovarian cysts was anti inflammatories and time. Is that true?

Look at the post I put up a bit ago... I am on chemical menopause because of cysts. I have other posts about how much crap Ive gone through with cysts. They SUCKS.

Ive tried a lot of stuff and it basically came down to inducing a chemical menopause which I started today. Sucks, but the next step for me is most likely a hysterectomy

I found out I have ovarian cysts yesterday. One actually ruptured. Very painful. I went into today to get the depo shot and asked the doctor what the treatment is, and he said there isn't one. I'm just supposed to get another ultrasound in a month.

ETA: Apparently, I'm just supposed to wait until the fluid is reabsorbed from the ruptured cyst, then supposedly the pain will go away on its own. Hope my doctor isn't on crack.

Will the Lupron put you into menopause as long as you're on it, or will it stop the menopause symptoms once you stop the treatment?

I'm afraid if this is the case for me that I wont be able to have another child. And I am in so much pain right now, they only advice my doctor gave me was to take some ibuprofen and schedule an ultrasound if the pain gets worse, which it has.

Its not permanent. It's actually the best way for some people to get pregnant... if they have problems getting pregnant they can induce menopause, then come out of it and its easier to get pregnant. So its not a forever thing  

Ibuprofen is supposed to supress cyst formation but it didnt for me. Mirena can help because of the hormones, so can other birth controls. It didnt for me. Avoiding dairy can too. There is a lot to stop cyst formation but nothing helped.

I drained my cysts once... that smurf hurt SO SmUrfING BAD.... I was shaking so bad and they had to stop because I couldnt handle the pain. Then again they just knocked me out and did a whole surgery to remove all of them. They were back in a month. Thank god for insurance to cover all this smurf. I truly am blessed to have medicaid.

I had surgery. My cysts were endometriosis though.

How did you know it was endometriosis? My doc thinks I might have that. How painful was the surgery??

I've had one cyst on my left ovary since 2008. I did some research and with the confirmation from my doctor, the only treatment they suggested was to go on a birth control that prevents ovulation. I've had ultrasounds, a CT scan and a MRI. Mine was 2 centimeters big. Mine would rupture and the only treatment they could give me was anti-inflammitories and told me that the fluid from the cyst was irritating the surrounding tissue, which was giving me pain.

Last June I had an ultrasound and the cyst was gone. But I had the recognizable pain come back and it was the cyst. I had Mirena put in last May and it does not prevent ovulation and could cause ovarian cysts. I read a few weeks ago on the Mirena website that Mirena can cause cysts (hence reason number one I'm getting it taken out). The website said it could go away on it's own. Good luck!

Ugh, this Lupron smurf SUCKS. That's all I can say.

I'm so sorry.
I'm gonna try to keep up with your posts so I can see how you're doing. I need to schedule an ultrasound today. The doctor I talk to yesterday said if it's a cyst problem there are probably multiple and on both ovaries
