TMI and really gross so read at your own risk(Period stuff)

The weirdest most disgusting thing just happened to me. Right now I'm on my period and I'm having cramps from hell. The last few months have been like this. This month and last month I actually had my period but I skipped a few in between. I switched BC this month and it helped me to actually bleed this my doctor was concerned that the lining could have been building up which was causing a lot of my pain.

This is where it gets gross and please don't judge, it was kind of an instinct thing.

I was getting ready for bed and I was taking out my tampon. It wasn't in for that long, maybe 3 hours tops. The tampon was new, didn't have a smell or anything. Well, when I pulled the tampon out, it was like a stringy blood clot came out with it. It was attracted to the tampon and everything. But then I noticed a horrible smell. It smelled like rotting flesh. Idk why, but I got closer to smell it and it was definitely the blood. I gagged. When I went to put the tampon in some toilet paper, the blood clot was actually pretty hard.

What the hell. This has never happened and I'm freaking out. It's so gross and I don't have an STD or anything.

is there any chance you might have been preg and miscarried?

Maybe it was old blood that finally came out?
Idk, my PP bleeding smelled like rotting flesh, I gagged everytime I went to change my pad.
But I have no period because I'm on the shot :/

Not really but there could have been a super slight chance. SO and I had sex a few days after I was on a one dose antibiotic. He pulled out and everything(yes, yes, I know you can still get pregnant.) But I highly doubt it. If I took a pregnancy test now, could it show up if I was? Or since the clot already passed, would there not be enough hormone to know for sure?

Should I go to my doctor or should I wait it out to see if it gets worse? I was just there last month and they did a few tests because my CM looked "off" as my doctor said.

Wait until your period is gone, if the smell is still there I would in. BV tends to smell more when and after your get your period.

BV has a horrible smell...

And I thought I was on an extended period   Until I KNEW something was wrong because of the smell
