If you dated someone who had genital herpes what precautions did you take to make sure you didnt get it as well? Are there signs to look for or certain times you have to be less or more careful? ANY information would be helpful....

Well.. I am married to someone who has it... so.... yeah.... we were seperated for awhile and he got it, and now were trying to reconcile... but THIS is looming ..... among other things but this is what im asking about here lol

I'm being honest, I don't think I could reconcile with someone who could infect me with an STD.

i never have, but i'm under the impression that you can still transmit it even when you're not having the actual sores, but... i'm not sure. that's a tricky one. good luck though!

I would bring it up with your OB and see what they have to say. I know there are medications he can take that reduce the outbreaks or something similar.

I would forever laugh if you somehow got herpes and nobody would date you because they 'wouldn't date someone with that smurf.'
