re: When you become a mother. . .

I really think my older sisternlaw is just jealous. She misses the days when she had a rockin body. and her seeing her sister, looking sexy after just having a baby, pisses her off.

SO agrees with her.

I on the other hand believe I am still a women, and women are sexy. But also want to dress more like a mother my son would be proud of then a mother he would be embarrassed by. To each their own though...not my place to judge someone else for how they dress.

I believe theres a time and a place for everything. For me personally I still rock shorts but I'm uncomfortable wearing short dresses around my kids.If I'm out with friends though I'm still a women and dress as sexy as I want

How you dress has no baring on how you parent!
If your the kind of person that cares what people think than sure change the way you dress, otherwise work the mini ;)

I think it's still ok to dress sexy around your children, but not to get carried away

I agree to an extent. I do not believe in telling other people what they can or can't wear and try to avoid judging any women who dress promiscuously (unfortunately we all judge because it's a natural habit for every single person whether they admit it or not). I think it's okay for them to wear whatever they want, really.

With that being said I personally find that I have consciously toned down the way I dress since getting married and having a child. It was a personal choice. I feel that for me it's not appropriate, especially considering my husband's line of work. It just doesn't look very becoming to dress in such a way. Is it stupid that this is even an issue? Oh yeah. Does that mean I refuse to recognize it? Nope. It is what it is.

Besides, I've found that I prefer dressing in a conservative fashion. I like broadcasting a confident, mature look. I often dress in vintage clothing from the 50s and 60s when women were very conservative and it looks great. I regularly get complimented on some of the more conservative dresses I wear, especially by older people.

Quoting MyPurrrtyBabies:" you should tone it down. Dressing wise. According to my husbands older sister, she believes when you ... [snip!] ... she shouldn't dress so sexy, like: mini skirts,short-shorts,very tight clothing, and revealing tops. Do you agree? D&D."

I think you can dress classy...yet still be sexy. I wear skirts and clothes I think are "sexy" but If I see I have to much boobage showing I'll change. Some things I think are meant for alone dates with the hubby.

SO likes it when I dress "sexy" in a nice outfit and some cleavage (not that I have a choice with the girls, they kind of show no matter what I wear, lol) but I don't dress "trashy" like I sometimes would when I went out when I was younger. I like looking sexy, but it's stepped up a notch and more classy than when I was younger. I don't think theres a reason to dress conservatively unless thats your preference, but I think the type of sex appeal should grow with you, if you get what I mean.

I've had family and even random people tell me I didn't need to be wearing so much black, listen to the music I do, or even dye my hair now that I'm a mom o_O
You can guess where I told them to shove it!

Yes... U become a mom... But that doesnt mean u have to lose your identity in the process. Women need to feel "sexy" even when they are moms. I wear short shorts... Tank tops... Low cut tops... All like i use to. Of course ive toned it down some cause theres not much sexy stuff out there to fit a girl that 7 months pregnant! Lol. But u get my point!
