put their infant to bed awake??
My baby is 7 weeks and I couldn't imagine doing it. She falls asleep nursing every night and then I put her down. She sleeps 8-10 hours
If you do put your baby down awake, when did you start and did you have to let them cry? I don't want to let her cry? What is another method of putting her down awake besides letting her cry?

its not recommended to let a baby "cry it out" until 6 months & you could try putting her to bed & sitting next to her until she falls asleep

Unless he falls asleep after I burp him I've put him down awake since birth. He doesnt cry he just hangs out until he falls asleep.

But he has reflux now so thats changed. Hes grumpy most of the time now.

Thanks   I won't be using the CIO but was wondering other methods. That's a good idea though. I will be letting her nurse to sleep for a while though. She's still so little.

With my nephew he had issues with not being able to see you lol if he could see you he'd go right to sleep. He slept in a car seat & fell asleep on his play mat most of the time

I discovered co-sleeping with my last baby. It was the most awesome thing I ever decided to do with my baby and I plan to do it again with this one. Its not for everyone, but for us, it was a wonderful experience. I was always well-rested, she learned normal sleep patterns quickly, and neither one of us had to wake up all the way for her to eat.. I was very aware of her, so I responded to the slightest movement or sound indicating hunger, and it was just so easy and comfortable to sleep that way.. never had to deal with putting her to bed or anything until she was six months old and I moved her to a crib.. and by then, she was ready.

As far as nap times and stuff, she would fall asleep nursing, and I'd lay her down when she was already asleep, either in a bouncer, a swing, or my bed.

my LO goes to bed at night awake, he rarely sleeps during the day and since about 2-3 weeks has gone to bed awake but sleepy around 8pmish after a feed, he doesnt cry or whimper he just falls to sleep after a while or sometimes just lays there for a while until he falls asleep he will sometimes have a little bit of a grunt if his dummy/paci falls out and i run in and put it back, im quite shocked he does it though because in the day hes so clingy he has to be held or be near me so he can see me and screams whenever i go to put him down. hes such a mummys boy lol hes 13 weeks.

My son would have a smurf fit if I just laid him down and left. I have to pat his ass or rub his back until he falls asleep. He naps about 2 hours total during the day and goes to bed at 8 and he would not be cool with me laying him in the crib awake.

My lo is now almost 6 months old. But since we came home from the hospital I put her to bed awake   and she always and still does fall asleep on her own.

But in the off chance that she would fuss a bit, I would go in there but would not pick her up. I just would shhh her and rub her back a sec give her, her soother and then leave againg. The most I would ever have to do it is go in 3 times, without ever picking her up. Its not CIO if you respond to her, you just done need to pick them up you can sooth from a distance or from bedside.
