Cloth Diapering mama's I need help?!

Any one have an opinion on Alva baby diapers? What size do i get to start CDing right from the get go? Would a OS fit a new born? Or do I have to get new born? How many diapers do you use in a 24 hour span? How many do you think I'd need to do laundry every other day?

What kind of diapers do you use and what are your expierences?

watching.. i am in ontario too and want to know the same thing.. i would like to buy in canada.. to save on shipping as well! there seems like there soo many kinda and it all seems soo over whleming

I was looking all Alva because after 20 items it's free shipping even to Canada ahaha, I was all excited where abouts in Ontario are you?

Alva's are my favorite of the cheapies.
I've tried more brands than I could ever remember, lol.


But I love pricier WAHM brands best.
Rumparooz are also great quality for pockets.


Alvas run a tad bigger, so you'll definitely want the newborn size.
Prefolds and newborn covers are another great option for newbs.

Sooooo much information in the opening post. Some great links too.

You will probably need newborn sized.. I used disposables with my daughter until she fit into her Kawaiis.. I have one alva and its about the same size as those.
We have 21 diapers and wash every two days but it would be easier with a few more so I would say about 24 would be good.

what are the inserts for.. do you just wash the insert or the whole diaper? so confused

The inserts are what soak up the pee. They go inside the pocket in between the part the baby touches and the outer layer. You still have to wash the whole diaper.
