I blame his mother!!!! What is wrong with her!!! (long sorry

I love my hubby but he is an idiot. Plain and simple and I blame his mother. She babied him and did EVERYTHING for him and now he is completely and udderly retarded because of it.

For example, My hubby cannot wash dishes. he does it but he doesnt do it good. He ill leave food stuck in the bowels and stuff stuck to the cups and just put them up that way. So the other day I asked him if his mother EVER taught him to do dishes? Did he ever do chores? And he told me he never ever had to do a single chore in the house and neither did his sister.

His mother did all of his laundry (washed, dryed and folded), made his bed for him everyday, never made him wash his own dishes, cleaned his room for him, if he didnt want to pay a bill she payed it for him, if he over drafted his account she went and put more money into it for him. She even admitted she did his homework for him. And when he moved to houston to go to school when he was 18 she made weekly deposits into his account so he wouldnt over draft!!

So basically she never taught him to be responsible. He is the MOST irresponsible person I have ever met in my entire life! And ive been with him since he was 21 and he is now 25 and ive been trying to teach him to do things for himself but he just doesnt get it. I AM NOT YOUR MOTHER, I will NOT do everything for you. He still to this day overdratfs his account and his mom still goes and puts money into it for him. If I dont wash his clothes...he will wear them dirty!! He will eat off of dirty dishes and leave things on the floor for Days and leave his trash all over the house and it doesnt bother him.

Im sorry but I was taught to do chores and take care of myself and be a clean person!!! What was his mother thinking!!!!

Your hubby sounds just like my little brother...my mom babied him to death and now he has a wife and 2 small kids at home and having to live in 1 of her rent houses because they would be homeless if they had to depend on him paying rent. He isn;t my hubby but gets on my nerves just the same!

I understand you completly!! I was raised doing chores from a very young age and my bf had little chores but like his mom said he barely did them so she did them for him! Now we live together and I don't ask him to do much because he works 12 hr shifts however he likes to leave his socks and clothes scattered about the house and at 36 weeks i find it extremly challenging to reach nearly 6 ft down to pick them up!! I ask him to take out the trash once a week because thats about all it needs with only 2 of us and he can't because he is to tired!! yet he can go any day and help a friend fix a car for 5 or 6 hours??

Sounds like my boyfriend. I love to cook but jesus and joseph cant you at least put it on your plate yourself??

He wants me to dish it onto his plate and bring it to him. Fuck that I hate it. Put what you want on your own plate!!!

thats my BIGGEST problem

This sounds like my ex! He had 2 brothers and a sister (his younger brother passed away @ 16) They all lived at home and were teenagers or adults, and his mom did EVERYTHING for them. Until she was injured in a car accident. Their house went to shit! And none of them knew how to do anything by themselves, not even her husband. He can't read, and therefore can't even make an appt himself or anything like that! (in this day and age who the hell can't read?!) Bah! My kids will be self-sufficient before they leave my house!

My hubby was sort of the same way .
His mom and dad have always paid his bills , rent , car gas , blah blah , did his laundry all that stuff.
But since being with me and becoming a father he has come around 100%, he does dishes, cleans, takes great care of the kids , works, pays our bills (we do it jointly of course) ... but it didn't happen until he was 30 years old and I stepped in and told him, its OUR life now, lets do this together.

I don't think my hubby would have turned out as fiscally irresponsible as that but his Mom DEFINATELY babied him.. Thank God for the Army!.. That's not to say he's still not lazy.. I know for a fact that he knows how to do laundry AND iron from him being a soldier but since being married he's reverted back into that carefree little boy role where I'm supposed to come in and sweep up all that after him.. Ugh, and after almost 6 yrs of marriage he STILL leaves his wet towels on the bed.. :S

Sounds like my hubby...althugh his parents made him do his chores and pay his bills. He's fantastic at money management, but the ONLY thing I ask him to do in our house is to wash dishes. He leaves them all oily feeling...although there's no food on them, but it's like he doesn't rinse the soap off them. The worst part is....He's worked in a nursing home kitchen (where we met.) for 10 years now...WASHING dishes. Not just in a dish washer...but he would have to hand wash them....I think it's a guy thing.

i think all guys secretly know what the hell they are doing and are just pretending to be retarded and useless so we will go ahead and do it ourselves and not even ask them...Don;t fall for it ladies!

God im hoping that this baby will change him! He does pay his half of the bills but thats ONLY b/c I take the money out of his account for his bills the day his check hits.....then its all down hill from there. Im praying when the baby gets here he will be a cleaner more tidy person.

I hate doing it for him.I dont do as much as his mother did but I cant stand a dirty house and if I dont pick up his mess it will just sit there forever!!

Your probably so right! But it sucks so much that if we dont do it ourselves it doesnt get done at all. Ive tried it, and he ended up eating off dirty dishes and wearing dirty clothes!
