We have a well-developed bow echo pushing into the Hudson Valley north of New York City right now. This appears to be the most dangerous part of the line. The line extends southwest through northwest NJ into the Lehigh Valley with damaging winds there as well. Then we pick up another line of severe storms with damaging winds from Pottsville to Harrisburg in south-central Pennsylvania racing to the east.

Haven't seen many tornado warnings outside the Northeast today but there is now a tornado warning for southern Anderson County and northern Mercer County in east-central Kentucky until 6:55pm EDT. This is west of Lexington and south of Frankfort.

A second line of severe thunderstorms is pushing into the Pittsburgh metro area in western PA - severe t'storm warnings are in effect there until 7:15pm EDT.

Severe thunderstorm warningnow in effect until 8:30pm for all five boroughs of NYC along with Nassau County on Long Island, and Union and Hudson counties in northern New Jersey.
Damaging winds over 70 mph are expected with the line of storms approaching the NYC area - take shelter in a sturdy building and stay away from windows.

There is a pretty well-formed bow echo pushing through North Jersey now - looks like Edison and New Brunswick are in its path in the next couple of minutes, and then it will move east toward Sayreville and Perth Amboy. This appears to be the most likely area for damaging winds in the NYC area in the short term.

The wind kind of slowed down. Dd hates storms, a few years back there was a bad storm and wind twisters were in the backyard.

It got really bad here....it blew our neighbors trampoline out into the road and mangled it. But we never saw a tornado, was just high winds.
Apparently we have another cell coming our way. Booooooooooooooo.
Hope everyone is staying safe.

We're safe and sound. Me and the kiddos hung out in the basement for the worst of it. Then my older son had to poop and he doesn't like the basement bathroom So we went upstairs and by then the wind was mostly gone and it was mainly just thunder/lightning.
Thanks for the updates
