There is a diffrence between rap and hip-hop. Hip-hop is a lot more popular now adays on the radio I think. But wtf do I know.. I dont listen to that mind retarding thing anways.

the actual thing that prompted me to make this post was in another thread was the guy talking about giving women aids and the video had a link http://chroniccentral.com so bored me went on the site.. it just annoyed me, they called all the women bitches.. referred to a white girl as a 'pale faced bitch' it just annoyed me that people actually think this way

It's probably why they're NOT main stream and will even end up being a flash-in-the-pan to the underground scene.. I don't think there are many people that relate to that.. There's really no market for it..

Well HOOD equates to NO MONEY so I don't think they're winning any awards for being marketing geniuses.. If you keep praising hoodlife that's where you'll end up dying.. No skin off my nose..

I actually saw Joel Osteen or whatever his name is do a sermon that mentioned music like this. His sermon was about pre judging people and things. AKA prejudice. He heard a rapper in an interview g et asked why he always rapped about violence, and murder, and all that jazz..and the rapper said..."im just keepin it real" ..

but he's only keeping real what he knows because he wont branch out into other parts of the world or even a few miles down the road where there is no violence. I just thought it was interesting. But nowadays I havent heard a lot of violent filled rap...probably because I dont listen to the radio anymore, or know anyone that can expose me to that kind of music.

I do however..LOVE KRS-ONE, and Tupac..a loooong time ago I used to listen to three6mafia and even DMX. But I only thought I was relating to them because of the life I was living , the people I hung around, and what went down in my neighborhood. When reality, I had the ability to change that and I did. I did live in what was considered the ghetto, and I never even realized it cause it was the nicest house I had ever lived in. I was the minority there, so when I found something I could relate to, it was nice.
