I cant believe it... 16 year gap!

I had my daughter when i was 27 i did suffer with pre aclampsia and needed blood transfusion after giving birth, but it all seems worth it when you hold your bundle of joy. I waited till i was in my early 30's before tring for another child but each month i fell flat when i came on and said "it's not meant to be". when i hit 40 we gave up trying cos i thought i was to old. When i missed my period in march i thought i was going through the change, but i was feeling a bit weird so done a pregnancy test and to my SURPRISE it was positive.
I turned 42 on tuesday and i am happy but also a bit scared because of my age, we have got the ultrasound on the 6th and hope everything is ok it has been up till now. Is there anyone else out there having a child in there 40's

good luck, i know your chances are higher but plenty of older women are having babies now and they are completely fine.

My friend has a 22 yr old and has a baby at 40! They are all just fine.. you can do it momma! Congrats!!!

Good luck! My almost mother in law has an 8 month old at 42 and he is healthy! Her oldest is 24 (my fiance).

I'm not in my 40s but my mom also had me when she was 42. Theres a21 year age difference between me and my oldest sibling. My mom had high blood pressure to (still does) and we were both just fine. Good luck and congrats!

Thanks i dont feel so alone now, Hayley is so excited at the thought of having a sibling. I have been lucky up to now, apart from feeling a bit tired all is good and i know whats meant to be will be...

Ahh bless ya, dont give up. My fiancee and his exwife had ivf three times and although she fell pregnant it only lasted 3 weeks after finding out. My fiancee is 46 and looking forward to his first child....!

My mom had my sister when she was almost 39 - they were trying. She went to several "high risk" appointments because of her age, but my sister came out perfectly healthy and my mom came through it fine. You may want to consider seeing a special OB that deals with high risk pregnancies, but good luck and congrats!

I am under the hospital and they are keeping a close eye on me. they put me on asprin to thin my blood to try and prevent pre aclampsia happening again. They did say they wont let me go to 40 weeks but lets see...!

My husband and his brother are 12 years apart and they are close!
