Telling the parents..

posted 26th Jul '12
I honestly don't know how to tell my parents that I'm pregnant. I feel as if they are going to kill me for my mistake. But everything happens for a reason. My boyfriend & I went and got a pregnancy test because I noticed I was feeling different. I'm one week today. I don't know what I am going to do. Or how I'm going to tell my parents. If anyone knows anything. Please speak up.

You can't be one week pregnant. I suggest getting a book like what to expect when you're expecting so you can learn the basics.

And just say it. I don't think there is a way to sugar coat a 15 year old being pregnant. Tell them sooner then later.

You can't just be one week pregnant or a pee test wouldn't detect hcg. You have to be farther along than that

I just made sure they were both calm and not exhausted from work. I sat my mom down first and told her- I knew she would handle it better. And actually it went much better than I expected, she already suspected something was up because I was so serious about sitting down with her.
Then we both sat my dad down, and she actually said the words "she's pregnant" to him. He didn't handle it well at all- wouldn't speak to me for weeks. But eventually he got over it.
Do it face to face with them. Quickly and when they are not distracted.
You'll be ok!

Are you going from your last menstural period?

I agree that there is no way to sugar coat it. I just flat out told my mom. It sucks.

Are you sure you don't mean at least there weeks? And only you know your parents well enough to judge how they might react. There really is no perfect way to break news like that... I wish you luck.

It's best to just sit them down and get it out of the way.

I'm no expert but if I recall two weeks is the week after you LMP??? I think your dates are wrong but regardless I hope you find a way to tell
them that suits you.

Perhaps she meant one week late on her period....has there's no way on this planet a test can detected any hcg at one week.

I was 15 when I found out,, (I CANT GET THE FANCY WRITTING OFF!!  but anyways this is how I told my mom "I took three pregnancy tests" she said "your pregnant" and I shook my head yeah. She went crazy for about 10mins after that screaming at SO lol.. I mean theres no good way to do it..
And I waited 2 weeks to tell my daddy and I called him and was like "Hey what are you doing?" and we talked for a bit and i said "I have to tell you something" and he said "Alright what is it.." I said "Im 8 weeks pregnant..." and he said "I already knew you was. I could tell in the picture you sent me" and i said "your not mad at me??" he said "would being mad change anything?" and I was like "weeeellllll...." and he gave me a speach about how hes not upset with me cause he knows ill be a good mom (and I am) and he was saying stuff like he knows the baby is coming to loving parents and stuff..
But he dont have to put up with me or the baby so of coarse he dont care! lol

First figure out what u want to do rather it be adoption, abortion, or raise the baby. Then jus tell them and dont let them change your mind bc its your body and your baby. Is there another adult you can tell like an aunt or somebody that can be there with you if you are afraid?

Either she's real and seriously uninformed.... or some bored high schooler that is up late and isn't pregnant and is still uninformed.
