She insists its all her fault =[

So I posted about my cousin 15 and expecting. her status is "Don't Stress it's bad for the baby" I can't help but stress...I'm losing the one that I really truly do love because I'm pregnant... and I feel as if it's only my fault that I'm pregnant..so I'm gonna stress because i've lost everything..i'm breaking down.


I told her AGAIN that it takes two and its not just HER fault. =/ I need something else to say other than "it takes two" its not cutting it. I dont want her to feel like its just her fault and shes stressing and I just want her to feel better =[

I also have another question...Can they charge a 13 year old for CS?

Hmm, wouldn't think so, the kid wouldn't even have a job.  

Honestly, it may sound horrible to some, but I would encourage her to give the baby up for adoption.

This whole thing sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Newspaper delivery kids even have to be 14 where I live.

Does she plan to keep the baby? Are her parents supportive?

There is no way to serve a 13 yr old with CS papers. I mean the kid doesn't and isn't able to get a job.... can't get blood out of a turnip.

I agree, she's not in a good position. I would talk to her about all her options personally, she's got a very rough road ahead of her no matter what

Would his parents not be responsible to pay? (not that I think that's totally right, but if a 13 year old shoplifts, parents have to pay the restitution, 13 year old gets fined for something parents have to pay, etc)

I really cant do that =/ She wants this baby. She just "doesnt want him to hate her for this"

I thought about encouraging adoption, my aunt DID talk to her about adoption (her step mom) She really wants another baby and cant have one and told her that she would love to raise this baby and would even allow her to come live with her. It already is a disaster. =[

She just said that his dad is trying to talk him into signing over his rights. So I doubt it.

He can't just "sign over his rights".....that is not how things work. The only way he can do it is if both parents agree to adoption (open or closed).

I would talk to her again about adoption. How are a 15 year old and a 13 year old going to support a child?

Okay.. I just asked her if she thought about adoption... her response was "yeah i have..but my mom doesn't want me too and my brother doesn't want me too my mom my brother is willing to move back to hastings and find a job here so his girlfriend can babysit while i go to school."

That s a very sticky situation. USUALLY fathers can't sign their rights over unless there is another father willing to legally adopt the child. But again, I don't know how that works with people that young.
