cheating or leaving a pregnant gf.

posted 25th Jul '12
So there are a lot of pregnant teens in my FB friends right now. And apparently they can't get their baby daddy to stay with them. I have seen countless posts from theses girls either talking directly to or about these guys leaving them or cheating on them. Ok, I know cheating is wrong in any situation. But for the ones who are saying, "I can't believe he cheated on his PREGNANT girlfriend!"...To me, it's horrible to cheat in any circumstances. But they make it sound like because they are pregnant it makes the guy an ax murderer. I've also seen some say the same smurf but just for the guy leaving them, not cheating on them. IMO, if he doesn't want to be with you, he doesn't want to be with you. He doesn't have to be because you are pregnant.
Again, I'm not saying cheating is okay...or that they shouldn't be upset about it. But I'm sick of seeing them make it out like the guy HAS to want to be with them because they are pregnant.

Am I wrong? Should a guy be called all sorts of names and have all kinds of personal smurf posted on fb about him because he doesn't want to be with the girl he knocked up?

I agree that cheating is not okay under any circumstances. I think they're just using being pregnant to make it more of a big deal.

I think people put too much personal stuff on Facebook. That stuff shouldn't be broadcasted to the world. I think cheating is not okay period.

They all sound like they can't make a good decision to save their lives so I'm not surprised there's sex, breakups, cheating and then airing of dirty laundry. Like you said, cheating isn't okay but it's pretty unbecoming to keep the immature drama going instead of taking the high road.

IMO once you get a girl pregnant, your responsibility is to the kid, not the baby momma, as long as you step up to the plate and take care of that child's needs, then you're good to go.

Is it smurffy? yes it is. But people break up and leave all the time, pregnant or not. But you shouldn't walk away from being a parent.

Cheating...of course always wrong. But yeah, a cheater can still be a good dad...not that many of them are.

Cheating is wrong and when you have been in that situation ur pissed. And want to vent. These days fb just lets more ppl see it.I think it may suck for the Guy but don't be a lying cheating dog. As for leaving I would rather a man leave then cheat. I do think it sux for these. Girls their men are all baby I live u or let's have a baby then when it all gets wall they bail. However I think it should be handled personally not on fb

you're right in that they should leave, not cheat. but if they do leave that doesn't make them a piece of smurf just because they don't want to be with you. just because you're pregnant. he may still want to be there for the child but sadly, a lot of these girls won't give them the chance if they don't stay for the pregnancy.

mostly true. one of girls is 19 though, and while yeah that's still a teen, she should be more mature IMO.

While it's absolutely ridiculous in any situation to post dramatic smurf on Facebook...

And cheating is wrong in any relationship whether you're pregnant or not...

I think the reason that people tend to freak out about the "pregnancy" part is that a lot of the cheating may be caused by a guy freaking out about his girlfriend being pregnant or fear of becoming a father (especially when it was not planned). I would think a lot of the teens (or adults for that matter) may be simultaneously angry that the pregnancy threw a wrench into the relationship, and may even feel guilty about it, whether they had reason to or not.
