It's better to be safe then sorry. Wake him up and take him to the hospital. It doesn't matter if it's 80 degrees he shouldn't be blue.

What's his adjusted OP? Has he had issues with O2 sats in the past. Do you feel him breathing. Is it cool in your house? Or do you think he is cool from a lack of oxygen. That is quite serious. I would take him in... Sounds as if he isn't keeping his oxygen saturation up while he is sleeping. Was he acting normal prior to bedtime aside from being cranky? Sick? Anything unusual?

Have u woken him up yet?? Maybe he's forgetting to breath?? can u take him in?? Where do u live? Weather cold or warm now?? My babies feet used to get blue purplish, but thy were cold and would kick their lil feet out, never in there faces,

actual is abt 2 months adjusted? he was screaming his head off earlier and i let him CIO to go to sleep because nothing i did calmed him.

So are you going to take him in or...?

no. my husband is coming home from work. hes an anesthesiologist. just called him. he said just keep him awake and upright and he'll be home soon.

I would call 911. Not smurfing around a with a blue/grey baby. He needs medical care ASAP.

Sorry I reread where you said he was born at 28 weeks. Honestly you need to wake him up. If he isn't usually a crier like that then it sounds like maybe he is coming down with something respiratory that is causing his O2 sats to go down. Feet and hands going a little dusky isn't too much of a concern if the baby is cool, but the face is VERY different. You need to try to get him alert. You also need to take him in, or at the very least you need to call the on call Pediatrician to see if they want him to be brought in through ER now, or in the office as soon as they open. I can't stress enough how serious that is!

Well hopefully your husband has enough common sense to take the baby in for tests if he's still blue/grayish. Your LO needs to see a doctor not an anesthesiologist if that's the case.

Me, personally, if I found my son blue/grey in color I wouldn't be waiting for anyone other than the ambulance, and I sure as smurf wouldn't find myself on BG.

But like I said good luck and I hope he turns out alright.

An Anesthesiologist is a doctor... I agree he needs to be seen, but I just thought I'd point that out.

That's what I don't understand about some of the questions that get asked on here. I feel like if you have to ask if your child needs to be taken to the ER you probably shouldn't be on the internet... Plus the it appears the OP made an account to ask this question. If I walked into check on my infant and found him/her blue I would have only taken the time to get them to the hospital, or call 911, but I always try to ask questions and answer to the best of my ability for the sake of the potentially at risk baby.

I know that. They are the ones that administer anesthesia to surgical patients though and help patients with pain management after sugeries and procedures.
