Sleeping on tummy and back

posted 24th Jul '12
This is my first pregnancy and everyone has told me i cant sleep on my front or back. But i have found that i wake up on either back or tummy instead of on my side. If this keeps happening will it affect anything?

You can sleep on either until it gets uncomfortable for you. I slept on my back until recently. I can no longer breath if I lay on my back lol and my bump has gotten too big to comfortable sleep on it either   You'll be fine.

If is still comfortable it's fine. Your body will not be comfortable when it becomes hazardous. Or you will subconsciously roll IMO a safe position while pure sleeping. That's more for later pregnancy. I'm assuming you are still early on?

As long as it's comfortable, you should be fine. I always put a pillow in between my legs. Helps with supporting my belly and feeling comfy.

I'm not comfy enough on my belly anymore. But the back I know isn't a good idea after you get bigger in the belly. Has something to do with cutting the blood circulation to your uterus. I hate it because I love sleeping on my belly. Falling asleep on your back is okay though. As long as you're not there long. When I get ultrasounds done I'm flat on my back for about 45 minutes straight.
