Idk, double standard. "age doesn't define what kind of mother I will be!" then they go and label themselves "teen mothers". I don't get it.

I blame stupidity and wanting attention by using their age as a crutch and an excuse. I'm 19 with two kids, had my first at 17 and I have never walked around talking about "teen mom this, teen mom that." I am a mother no matter what age I became one. A mother is a mother regardless of age-putting I'm a teen mom in every sentence is seeking attention IMO.

My mother had me at 19 years old...and to this day she says that "she didn't have a childhood because she had her kids young" While 19 is young...its not THAT young...my half sister had her first at 14...and she's an excellent mother..my mother is NOT a good mother. I think age has NOTHING to do with it. I had my son at 20 - he was planned - I was pregnant at 19...I don't think I lost out on childhood...that's just ridiculous.

I think society (which society is the problem here...) just views teen moms as well..teen moms. lol. They should make a show called old ass mothers...haha.

It's a crutch.
