It was very uncomfortable and sorta painful for me. I kept having cramps for the rest of the day each time I was checked. I guess it also depends on if you have a female or male doctor.

Normally they just stick a finger or two in their and check how many centimeters you and and the postion of your cervix, like how effaced/thinned you are.
The only time it hurt me was when they did a membrane sweep, but I was further along when they did that. And its where they separate the sack from the cervix to try and 'speed up'the process

I had to have mine checked at 33 weeks, I didn't realize fingers could go that high. haha
It was uncomfortable, but just keep relaxed.

ive been checked twice now and it doesnt feel like a pap test, its not comfortable but my experiences havent been unbearable just uncomfortable pressure for a few seconds...

It was uncomfortable and painful lots of pressure when they do it. Just relax it'll be over before you know it. I was always excited to get my cervix checked just to see how far along I was lol.

I don't know what was worse.. Having my cervix checked, or my water broken... I didn't mind being checked by the nurses in the hospital, but my doctor, he was kinda rough.

For me it was worse. I had a posterior cervix, so it seems like the Dr put their whole hand up there. I freaked when I looked down, and didn't even see a wrist.

I didnt find it uncomfortable what so ever my first and second time (33wks& 35wks). I did find it extremely uncomfortable my third time at 37wks in which I lost my mucus plug due to it and had alot of light bleeding afterwards.
