Diaper Rash Question

My daughter is almost 3 months & her little butt is very red today, my mom has been babysitting & she used 5 diapers in a 6 hour period so I feel like she is changing her enough.. Her diapers were looking a little small (they didn't leave red marks yet & she didn't have blow outs they just started looking small) but I had about 20 diapers of size 1 left so I figured it would be okay to use them, could that have caused the rash? Also if I use desitin for a few days will that take care of it? I am obviously a first time mom & I feel so bad

My nephew has gotten several rashes from disposables & if she is peeing alot then that could cause it. Desitin, anti monkey butt cream & most diaper rash creams should work.

it happens to all babies. and yeah, usually when I use desitin it clears up by the next day or two

The diaper size won't cause a rash, changing brands, changing formula or if you BF something you ate or just her urine can,cause it. Desitin is good or cornstarch   all babies get it

Yeah I have desitin & some butt paste her dr gave us! My mom said she took a nap for about an hour & half so maybe she peed during her nap & was in it a little long? I just feel so bad she winces when I applied the cream

Okay thanks ladies I freak out about everything  
I do breastfeed & she is using pumped milk during the day so unfortunately I'm not sure if something I ate at the time is bothering her.. but I have a very bland diet now & when I first started pumping I was eating fast food a lot so maybe thats it..

What you eat she eats   she will be fine I'm sure you are doin a great job   and yes being wet a little longer from a nap can do it. Don't worry, she will be just fine

I usually let them air out a couple minutes before I put the new diaper on. It really helps. I can count on one hand the number of diaper rashes my kids have had combined and I have 4 kids. I can be messy but lots of nakey time will help it to clear up faster

thanks for putting this up I need some help with this too. My LO is only 8 days old and at 6 days old we noticed she was just getting the start of a rash, and we change her constantly. Because we saw the start of a rash we started putting a diaper cream on at each change and started writing down all her feedings and changes and she goes through 13 to 15 diapers a day. I am wondering if the diaper it's self can cause a rash if she's sensitive.

I just read a suggestion on line to try Lansinoh breast cream makes sense to me I may try it

So the rash went away after a day & then its back.. we are using the same diapers & wipes & I change her as soon as I notice she went poo/pee! Should I take her to the dr?

My daughter has an appointment on the 31st if she didn't already have one I'd be making her one. Her rash isn't bad just not getting any better   but leaving her naked has seemed to help I just lay a changing pad under her with a fresh towel under her and if I think she's about to go I put a diaper under her and (I'm not always in time lol) but every time I put a new diaper on her I put a generous amount of diaper cream. Plus we went to a size 1 which she is swimming in but we put it on loose so it's not snug on her bottom to let the air at it as much as possible.
