Drop side cribs

Were all drop side cribs recalled? I tried google and only old articles came up. I know kits are available to make the side fixed, but wasn't sure if all were recalled and illegal to sell.

Unless they had a fix then I believe so.

Yes they're illegal to use now. I had to buy a new crib for my new baby.

That's what I thought. I was browsing Craigslist and every other crib on there is a drop side   You have to agree to their terms and when posting in the baby section it even says it's prohibited to sell drop side cribs lol.

yep people will do anything to make a buck. Who cares if its safe or not. My goodwill wouldnt even take one for donation.

Most donation places and consignment shops around here won't take anything like that, even car seats, which is good!

I fully agree I cant believe the amount of car seats I see for sale on craigslist

Same! I think it's actually really sad that someone would sell them, and that some one else would be so stupid to buy a used one from a stranger.

Yes, all were. I still use mine though, I ordered pieces to make the sides stationary.

Ok, just wanted to make sure before I flagged some of the craigslist ads that are trying to sell them lol.

Pretty much all cribs over here are drop sides. Im so short, so glad they haven't been recalled here.

I wonder if the construction of them are different than here? They were recalled because of the infant mortality rate. Babies were getting stuck between the gate and mattress and suffocating, also the gates I think had amputated or broke limbs and/or fingers. I wish they would find a safer way to make drop sides because I would really like one lol, I'm pretty short too, and have a really bad back, and it's so tough getting my LO in and out.

Hmm not too sure. My son doesn't have any room down the side to get stuck or his arms or anything. I can barely get my fingers down the sides.

Well, that's good, sounds like the construction is different.
