Naughty kids?

My 2 have been seeming to act naughtier and naughtier lately. LIke about 5 minutes ago, I went to the bathroom, I com back out an there they are coloring on my carpet with chalk! (I don't even know where they got it from) They have never been like this before, normally they are really well behaved, I don't know whats going on. I hate having to get after them, and lately it seems like all day long I am having to get after them. I thought that maybe it was because they were stuck inside, but even when we go out and play then come back in they start acting the same way. Getting into things they know are 'off limits' or just plain out being naughty. My little one has started hitting and pushing her big sister. Is anyone else having this problem, or has anyone else found it normal for their ages? (they are 2 1/2 and 17 months) Any suggestions or tips that worked for you other mommies?

lol welcome to the joys of toddlerhood. my guy is like that too. he waits till im on the phone or int he bathroom before he gets into something he kNOWS hes not allowed to.
there was one time a month or 2 ago where i was feeling kinda sick so i spent some time in the bathroom, and i came out and he had gotten into my fridge and took out my almost full carton of eggs and broke them all over my carpet. maaaan.
hes always doing things he knows hes not supposed to, like playing with the laptop, or putting on movies (those are the worst because theres a high potential to break something)
anyways, i dont have any real suggestions. im curious to know what other mommas that have gone through this have to say. nothing seems to work for me other then timeouts when he gets outta control.

thanks, I amjust so sick of it!! I mean it is the same everytime I turn my back they are getting into something else. I can't even do the dishes until they go to bed because I can't stand there long enough without having to get after one of them. like I said it is weird though, tallia, my 2 year old was never like this, she was what I call 'perfect; for a 2 year old, never got into anything, until about the last 2 weeks. and I think that is why it bugs me so much. I just thought maybe I had changed something... but who knows... thanks again though!
