I also use Avent, they work great for my son. He was a month early so he is a bit confused sometimes about what to do, so I pump and when he is awake I nurse. He does great with that, goes between them well.

Nope....I've heard some companies are going to make bpa free bottles starting in 2009, just to ease people's minds.

I actually wanted to go with the dropins prior to the whole bpa scare....in fact, when I bought those bottles, I hadn't even heard about it yet. To find out theyre bpa free was purely coincidental. People may be overreacting to this whole thing, but since nothing is certain, I am just playing it safe. But like I said....I did NOT pick my bottles based on the pure fact that they are bpa-free. And if they dont work for my son, I would certainly switch.

Its very very very hard to buy bottle, imo! There are so many to choose from!

they usually run like 4-5 dollars a piece....plus 4-5 bucks for a box of 100 drop-ins...so the avent ones prolly are cheaper..i forgot i have a few of those too....i used the drop-ins with my first but after about 6 mos. i put him on regular bottles, i was afraid he would grab the bag and try to rip em' out.

america wants us to fear everything. We were brought up with the same bottle and most of us are fine. plus, if everyone is going to worry about BPA you should also worry about the food you will feed your children

yes. but i liked the nuk ones because the nipple sits like your nipple would. so it helps with the nipple confusion

Yeah but if that is the case, ppl wouldnt be so worried about putting your kids to sleep on your back. My mom said she was told with all three of us girls to have us sleep on our stomachs so she always did that. It's just a new thing to worry about......trends are going to come and go. Now our hospital here is saying to not use any lotions at all on babies until they are a year old. There will always be something to worry about, even if it is "uncalled" for. And recommendations are ALWAYS changing. Same with bumper pads. Now youre not "supposed" to use those. I just cant keep up anymore

yea i would..my daughter loved them..but the soothie ones are also wide and very cheap and i have a lot of friends who swear by them..they kinda remind me of the avent bottles..they sell a gift pack of 2-4 oz bottles and 3-8 oz ones, a pacifier, a bottle brush, and 2 snack cups at walmart for like 14 buck..i bought one to try.

Well (and dont think I agree with this because I will use lotion and I have a bumper pad on my crib!!!) supposably something in lotion can cause skin reactions and isnt good for their skin......whatever. And with bumper pads, they say not to use those now because of the whole SIDS stuff....something about them suffocating on it.
For the dry skin, what they are saying is to only use aquaphor (spelling??). That stuff is yucky feeling, I wouldnt want to put it all over my baby!

yea as long as they are put on right and tight i don't see how they could suffocate...oh and the aquaphor stuff..they prolly just want us to spend more money...that stuff isn't cheap...

People are too damn paranoid these days . It irritates me. I will be putting my baby to sleep on his back though, just b/c I am a little paranoid about the whole SIDS thing. But i'm sure he'll fine.

Im telling ya, its always going to be something. In five years, they will recommend we actually use bottles with BPA in them, we will have to hang out babies upside down to sleep, we will have to bathe them in baby oil, and they will recommend that parents dont breastfeed anymore. Lol, ok maybe not, but you see what I mean? drives me nuts!
