So tired of my family.

My brother has seen the horror my mother conflicts on me.
She has told me to kill myself, That im a fat lard, that im a ugly smurf, that im a stupid bitch. He has seen her slap and punch me in the face, throw me across the room, rip the hair from my head, and spit on me.
Yet he still stands up for her. I have forgiven her so many times and it always happens again and again. And she blames it on menopause.
I cant stand this anymore.

But on the bright side, apartment hunting with my best friend this week. Hope we get lucky.

Why don't you get your own place? Living with a bestfriend plus baby can be hard..

Even bi polar doesnt make you do that to your child...

I'm NOT saying it's any sort of excuse.. but my mom would hit me and say awful, awful things.. and she went into counseling for it and was indeed bi-polar. Now that she takes medicine regularly, nothing of the sort has happened. & it's been years. Bi-polar messes with chemical levels in your brain. You should encourage her to get checked out. Bi-polar people can be dangerous if mixed with other disorders or if it's severe.. which it sounds like it might be. And I would really support moving away from the situation.

  In the end, you can't make her. All you can do is remove yourself from that situation and her life and hope that by leaving, she'll see there is a problem. That's what I did. Once I cut her from my life, she got the help she needed.

I'm so sorry hun. My best friend suffers really similar abuse from her mother, even though she's 21 and had moved out before returning home--and her mother still treats her like filth.

I really truly hope you find a place. I know California is fricking expensive as hell, good luck girlie.   I know it is hard that someone who is supposed to love and protect you hurts you like that. Your son shouldn't see it either. Get out as fast as you can. Maybe when you're gone you can establish a better relationship with your mother that shows she doesn't have control over you.
