Braxton Hicks????

I was wondering exactly what BH feels like b/c my Doc. never has explained to me or asked me if I am having symptoms of BH. I do get this feeling like everything becomes tight and hard around my stomach. I wasn't sure if it is the baby pushing against my stomach or BH. Can someone explain to me exactly what it feels like? Thanks so much  

well mine are multiple times an hour and your entire tummy gets hard..you can feel where the uterus starts and stops...mine worsen when i have a full bladder too...

on my last appt the doc asked me if i was having any BH and since i didnt know what it was i said [no]. 
but i think i do get some, a few times a week...

Well..the way I would describe them is...your tummy gets really tight and hard...mine starts from the lower abdomen and goes up..me personally I get cramps in my lower back when I have them but I think they are a lil different for everyone..
Only recently have they gotten painful or uncomftorable...prior to 28 weeks...I could feel them all the time but they never hurt or were uncomftorable...
But mostly...you will definately know when you are having one...but I also hear alot of women say they never felt or noticed them

for me the first time it felt like i was getting period back cramps, my back was getting really really tight, and i was getting pelvic pressure, and felt like i could not breath.. it was like something was squeezing my insides, it lasted about an hour or so lol. NOT FUN..
And now when ever i get them, its just my uterus tightens up like a rock... really tight, so you can see the shape of her and everything, and it feels like a rock literally, and i get a burning sensation on my lower abs.   it lasts a couple of minutes and then goes away slowly. And your breathing usually gets more rapid suddenly when you get them, you dont notice it always but it speeds up, cause it does get harder to breath.

Wow! I haven't gotten them that intense yet. I made my bf feel how tight it was and he squeezed a little.... I almost killed him lol. I'm gonna be checking next time to see if I can see him! Interesting!

ya its cool looking, but its very painful!!!! im like OOOOOOWWWWW.. haha, and if i even touch it slightly putting pressure it hurts, i even get bruises sometimes lol. But its interesting, i have a pic in my albums from one time where i had one, and you can see her sticking up! lol. In person you can see more details though.. but its definetly intense!

Wow!!! All of this never ceases to amaze me as I go! I'm not looking forward to the pain but I'm very interested in this being able to see him thing!! That's crazy!!

abd im starting to get scared

Hmm... have you been drinking a lot of water? I've noticed that I've been getting them frequently the last couple of days in particular and I think I've been a lil low on the water.... I've also read that the tightness can come from not being hydrated enough. Of course I wouldn't just take my word for it! I'm just starting to get them...I would call the doctor to be safe.

i was wondering this as well ! Last night i started getting these little cramps. they sort of felt like period cramps. Today they are worse. They are not very fequent. maybe 3 an hour but they are stronger then yesterday. One good thing is the baby has been moving around like crazy today so i guess that is a good thing. I have felt a lot of movement since sunday. I don't really have tightness though. i don't feel like my belly is getting hard or anything... Is this BH?

Can a lack of water cause BH?? Hmmm...

I don't know about that... but in one of my books it said that not drinking enough can cause tightness in the uterus.... I'm still trying to figure out the whole BH thing myself because I've just started to get them.
