I'm due on the 25 and my doctor wants to induce me on the 29 due to rick of pre eclampcia i have swelling in my hands and feet and have been seeing spots he doesn't want it to get worse but im going in for a vba2c and i have heard that being induced w pitocin can cause the rick of uterine rupture to go up by 2 percent and i don't want to do any thing that will cause harm to my baby so i wanted to know if you all know of any home remedies besides sex also i've already tried pineapple cumin tea cinnamon tea and spicy food nothing seems to be working

Have you tried lots and lots of walking? You can refuse the induction if you want to. See if your OB will put it off for a little bit longer since you don't have pre-e? I don't see what a few days more will do if they monitor you closely.

I'm sorry. At the end of the day it's your decision but I hope LO comes on their own for you. I've heard bouncing on a birthing ball may help? It's worth a hot.

none of the home remedies are meant to work fast. they all take weeks to work. I will tell you what I did but it might not help.
Ok what i did for self induction was use the following schedule for evening primrose oil and then I pumped 1-3 times a day (mostly before bed) for 15 min at a crack. I also used red raspberry leaf tea. I was doing vaginal insertion of the oil capsules the 38th week IN ADDITION to taking 2000- to 3000mg orally. total daily dose did not exceed 4000mg. Hope it works for you. I would highly recommend the pumping since it has been shown to increase milk supply following delivery.

According to the National Institutes of Health, evening primrose oil is high in prostaglandins and contains gamma-linolenic acid, a type of omega-6 fatty acid. Prostaglandins soften the cervix so that it is ripe to begin dilation and effacement as labor progresses; they are naturally produced in higher amounts by the body in preparation for labor and delivery. The use of evening primrose oil to start labor has been around for a long time, and many midwives swear by this technique when helping pregnant patients prepare for delivery. Evening primrose oil does not directly trigger the start of labor, but works by softening and ripening the cervix. This allows the baby's head to engage in the pelvis, encouraging dilation. Not everyone agrees that evening primrose oil will help to soften the cervix.
Visit your obstetrician for permission to use evening primrose oil to start labor, and to make certain your membranes are intact. The introduction of any substance into the vagina, or through the cervix, after a tear or rupture in your membranes may result in a serious infection that could put you and your baby at risk
Take two 500 mg capsules of evening primrose daily, as soon as 36 weeks' gestation. This will help slowly ripen and soften your cervix, but will not cause you to go into preterm labor.
Increase the amount of capsules you are taking each day to three or four when you reach 38 weeks' gestation. Decrease your dose if you experience nausea or diarrhea, which are two common side effects of evening primrose oil.
Insert a capsule into your vagina before bed each night throughout the last few weeks of your pregnancy. This should be done immediately before bed, as your body heat will dissolve the capsule and the oil will leak out of your vagina if you walk around.

By the way I would not recommend refusing an induction. If you are getting spotty vision related to high BP you are already getting swelling in the brain (that's why you have spotty vision) and that increases your risk of siezures. If you have a seizure related to high bp you could have an abruption and that could endanger baby's life. there is also swelling in the placenta if you have swelling in the brain, which means baby's oxygen and nutrient supply is limited.
Also approve any active natural induction mathod with your doctor (walking bouncing on birthing ball) since increased activity could make siezures more likely depending on how bad things are

See pumping does that not risk not having enough colostrum when baby's born?

I wouldn't say no to the induction either as pre e is scary. I suffered from t with my first born and we both was in distress during labour. I do hope yu manage to dialate more though. Do they only induce you lot with the iv or do they not do the gel under cervix? As that's how I was induced with my second born xxx

pumping before has been proven to INCREASE you milk supply after delivery. you are right pre-e is nothing to mess with - I know i almost died from it

sounds like a great Idea. Try the EPO and puming. I did it from 35 to 39 weeks I went from closed to 1cm at 35.5 weeks, 2cm at 36.5 weeks, 3cm at 37.5 weeks and 4.5 cm at 38.5 weeks and had baby at 39 1/7 ( my induction date) when I went in I had been contracting for 2 hours and was already 8.5cm. I shared my recipe with 2 other co-workers and both had the same results as me

Yeah won't they consider the gel under cervix?   I found it worked slower than the iv but not as fast x (my first was induced via iv and my second was only induced using the gel/tablets) xx
