Ovarian cyst and no period?

Has anyone had an ovarian cyst and because of that cyst missed a period? I do not have PCOS or have not been diagnosed with it. I am like clockwork with my cycles. I recently found out I have a 6cm cyst on my left ovary because I was in so much pain I went get it checked out and that was the outcome. I don't have the pains anymore so I'm hoping it's because it's shrinking. But still no period after it being due since the 17th. Took a FR but it was negative but I took it this evening after peeing about an hour before and 3 glasses of tea later. I've been peeing about every hour or two. I'm tired as hell. Been napping during the day which is unusual. Could a cyst make you have all these symptoms. I've researched but didn't come up with any symptoms relating to being tired and peeing more frequently. If anyone could shed some light I'd appreciate it. THANKS!!!

Yes. I had a 5cm cyst on my left ovary, and I didn't get periods.

My cyst didn't make me pee more, but I was definitely really tired.

Did you get really tired because of the cyst? Did that feeling go away after the cyst did? I'm curious because I've never had this problem.

Are you planning on having it removed?

They thought I had a 4cm teratoma. Sometimes referred to as a cyst, but they really aren't, they are weird tumors. I was in horried pain, had emergency surgery, and it was an 11cm cyst, it barely fit through my laparotomy.... my obgyn almost had to cut me vertically.... and. I had an ultasound and CT scan that determined the 4cm teratoma.

If it really doesn't feel right, don't panic, but trust your body.

I'm not sure if it was from the cyst. But I remember being really tired during the time I had it.

And the feeling didn't go away until after I was pregnant..in my 2nd trimester, lol.

I found out I had the cyst about 5 months before I got pregnant, though.

I may not have to have it removed. I haven't had any pain from it in two days so maybe it is getting smaller on it's own until it goes away. I hope so anyway. I just don't understand why I feel so tired and am peeing every couple of hours. This has been going on for about a week now. I found out about the cyst days after I started feeling the pain because I really didn't think much of it at the beginning. I thought it was because my period was a few days away and I was just getting some symptoms of it coming. But I'm guessing if it isn't smaller when I go on the 9th then they'll discuss on further treatment and possibly removal. I just want to have my body back to normal. I want to be able to have my periods on time and possibly start to feel my ovulation again.

Hmm well it could possibly not been related. I just hope I can either get my period or find out why I'm so tired and peeing all the time. The last time I felt like this I was pregnant with the baby I lost in December. I've taken a pregnancy test and it came out negative. You would think by now I'd be able to get a positive if I were pregnant. I guess it's just the cyst making my body wack.

Why don't you go get a blood test?? That would be a good step to take next. If the blood test comes back negative, then you should look into getting an ultrasound or a pelvic exam to check for a cyst.

Oh I know I have a cyst. I had a CT scan at the ER the night I went and they confirmed a 6cm cyst on my left ovary. I don't have the pain from it anymore but I still have the bloating and I am peeing more often which they said if the cyst is big enough it could sit on my blatter. I won't know anymore until I go to the doctor on the 9th. I took a test this morning and it's negative so I know I'm not pregnant. I read up on ovarian cancer and now I'm worried about that because some of the symptoms of that are some of the symptoms I have. Like the peeing more often, bloating, and being tired. That is what I don't need since we are trying to have a baby in the future.

  I am in a similar situation and it is frustrating me, I have been diagnosed with a cyst on my ovary(8cm) . I have been put on birth control pills to shrink it ,all that it has done is messed my body up, it has not done anything good. I now have not yet got my period for some time. I have had a pregnancy test done it is negative.


The symptoms of ovarian cysts, if present, may include:

• Menstrual irregularities
• Pelvic pain — a constant or intermittent dull ache that may radiate to your lower back and thighs
• Pelvic pain shortly before your period begins or just before it ends
• Pelvic pain during intercourse (dyspareunia)
• Pain during bowel movements or pressure on your bowels
• Nausea, vomiting or breast tenderness similar to that experienced during pregnancy
• Fullness or heaviness in your abdomen
• Pressure on your rectum or bladder that causes a need to urinate more frequently or difficulty emptying your bladder completely

I also feel very tired and have to nap during the day, which I never usually use to do.
