I am almost 37 weeks, and the past few days I have been feeling unbearably miserable. Kudos to anyone who reads all of this and helps me out...
My acid reflux is always there now. Even when I haven't eaten for hours, if I eat a little, or if I eat things easy on my stomach my throat feels constantly burnt. My only relief is when I vomit due to never-ending nausea (which I never had) accompanied by headaches and senseless fatigue. I sleep at least 12 hours now and it still feels like I haven't gotten a wink.
I've been feeling overall crampy and achy.... I don't know if it has anything to do with my body preparing for labor because my doctor cancelled my Wednesday US/Vag exam and hasn't contacted me for a new appt, so I have no idea how far along I am until the baby comes. I've heard you can get aches and cramps as you begin to dilate.
These symptoms have just popped up recently. I have been lucky to have SUCH a peaceful pregnancy, but I am absolutely miserable with what I'm feeling now. There is no relief. Plus my pelvis is on fire and I can't stand or lie down without a constant ache.
If any of you mamas to be got these symptoms in your last few weeks....How did you cope?! Please, somebody help me out or offer me some comfort that it is bearable. Any medicines I can take? I don't think I can handle another three weeks of this. I just can't do it.
I need a hug. It's only been a few days, I might have another month left of this and I can't cope.
You can cope!!!! The last three weeks or so are awful. And since you say the the rest of your pregnancy was easy this will seem like hell. But... It does end. I promise!!! This is the home stretch and you can see the finish line!!! Soon you will be holding your baby and will wonder where the time went. And honestly neither an ultrasound nor a pelvic exam can really tell you anything. The ultrasound can be way way off in sizing and I was dilated to 2cm and 75-80% effaced for 3 weeks. As a mater of fact I was still that when my water broke. They do not really give ANY indication of when labor will start. Consistent, regular contractions are the only indication. These last weeks are critical for your baby's lungs and putting the final touches on their brain and stuff so don't rush it. They come when their body is ready to face the world.
Good luck, momma!!! You can do it!!! Hang in there!
I can't honestly relate relate because I had my son at 38 and 5, and I was still feeling wonderful [well, til labor hit...then my body decided to hate me and give me hell throughout the WHOLE process].
I would suggest warm baths [unless you think you are leaking water], massages, Tylenol [anything Tylenol you can take, and it's safe...just follow directions LOL], and Tums! Also, call your doc and make another appointment, and asked to be checked if you really want to know. But it really doesn't indicate how far along you are with labor...you can sit at 4 cm and completely softened for weeks. So it's really hard to tell. But good luck and I hope the rest of your pregnancy gets better and you have an easy nice labor
Thank you guys so much. I really thought I was gonna get lucky and sail through this pregnancy with ease; I've had essentially no discomfort so I'm just really surprised to start having all of this now.
I'll try the Tylenol and Tums. I've been taking warm baths but I feel dizzy afterwards so I think I'll stick to my cold showers.
Three weeks, just three more weeks. You mamas are awesome. Thanks.
