baby einstein

posted 13th May
my son is 10 weeks old and he loves watching t.v. (sometimes) mainly what Iwatch and not the baby t.v. channel, yesterday my brother was watching dirty jobs and he was watching it like it was his job.
He doesn't like the classical music he would much rather listen to my ipod or his daddys zune. He cries when I put on the clasical music, sorry i'm rambleing but my question is would the baby einstein movies be worth it to get for him or just stick with what he likes?

If he likes to listen to your i pod or the zune turn them on instead. Babies should not watch tv untill about age 2. I really belive that it does delay speach and all that. My sister and my neice let their boys watch tv. Their boys do not talk yet and they are both 2. My self and my other sister dont let our children watch tv and they are both above where they should be in speach (my daughter is 17 mos, sisters son is 2). So really just put the i pod or zune on for him and let him play.

As far as the music goes, my 10 month old (and my 2 year old when she was that age)will listen to anything and everything. I was told that it doesn't matter what kind of music it is, it stimulates their brain the same way classical music does. We just play anything (except where bad language is used). I never tried Baby Einstein...they won't sit still long enough to watch anything, so I didn't waste my money...they prefer to play with crayons and blocks and other toys, so I just turn on some music for them. I guess it just depends on the kid(s).

I second that....we limit our kids tv (what they will watch) and everyone tells me that my 2 year old talks clearer and has a bigger vocabulary than most 3-4 year olds. She talks better then her soon to be 3 year old cousin.

i may take a dvd from my sister just to see if he likes it. he only watches t.v. when he is calm on the floor which in almost never, he hates his tummy time.
