Postive for group B strep?????

Hello mommies! I got tested for group B strep and it came out positive. I am really nervous now. Any mommie have this disease? Are your babies healthy? Does it go away after having baby? I need some support please. Tell me what I could do to relax. thanks.

from what my doc said is that they give you an antibiotic during labor and your baby will be just fine...

Is this the thing where they swab your vagina or something like that? I'm trying to remember what it is. lol.

they will just give you antibiotics through an IV while you're in labor..

I had it with two of my kids and they are both perfectly fine. I didnt not get the antibiotics in time with my second one, but my water had not broken so there was no risk, they did not break my water until she was almost completely out. You just have to get antibiotics its no big deal. I think maybe a sticky needs ot be made about this if there isnt one cause we get this question alot around here lol.

It's not a disease and it comes and goes.. All that'll gonna happen is they'll give you antibiotics in your IV while in labor and they'll probably keep you an extra day for observation of the baby.. No worries, plenty of women get this in pregnancy (me included) and in developed countries - it's not really a big deal, it's treatable

OP-Don't worry at all! They just give you antibiotics during labor and you and baby will be fine. No worries . I have it too.

we are on the same page but mine came up in my urine culture it said mixed gram positive flora and from the more than 10,000 colony count 8,900 are streptococcus group b. Im freakin out because i want to have my baby naturally but here in Puerto rico they just do c-sections so i may have to go back to fl, if a c-section is on my doctors mind. My boyfriend tried to calm me down but is hard . Breathe!!! is helpin me right now
