Playroom Ideas

Does anyone have some cute playroom ideas. I already have an easel and some toy storage shelves and a bookcase. I just dont know what to paint the walls like. I dont know if I want to do a theme or a design.

I would do a huge section of the wall with the chalkboard paint! We did some at my church in the nursery and the kids love it, they love getting to "write" on the wall. Bright colors, kids love bright colors.

that's what we're planning to do(the chalkboard paint).we're are also planning to make a good size portion of a wall magnetic board too for all the alphabet magnets and that kind of stuff.

My playroom is attached to my livingroom so the walls are all the same color but on the playroom side I have toynets hung up, I have a reading corner with floor cushions.. All my toy storage tubs are labeled to help everyone keep it organized.. I also went to a teacher store and bought up a bunch of educational posters like numbers, colors, alphabets, shapes, food, etc..

I just moved so I'm in the process of getting it set back up and don't have any pics to share but I've basically got all the kids shared toys and roleplaying toys in there..

i have a really big chalkboard easel so i dont know if im going to paint a chalkboard wall too. i saw a pic online of a tree painted onto the wall with chalkboard paint so i might do something similar.

how do you make a magnetic wall?

A big metal sheet of something that can hang up.

Oh! And I also plan on hanging up a swing, and attaching it to the ceiling.. I live in the desert so I'll need something inside to keep my kids physically active.. I'm also moving their stationary slide inside so they'll be able to climb things other than my couches! I think leapsandbounds.com and other stores like that actually sell pressure mounted indoor swings to hang between doorways.. I'm getting mine from IKEA though - IKEA is an awesome place for picking up stuff to stock your playroom with..

I also have an art bin set aside in a separate room to bring in when it's arts and crafts time..

I think they actually sell magnetic paint OR you can buy "magnetic posters" to hang up.. Can't remember where I saw them though - I'll have to take a look around.. I'll get back w/you if I can find them

Yep - leaps and bounds.com carries the paint and the magnetic panels to hang on your walls.. Just put in a search for "magnet"

I have no idea.Hubby was the one who wanted to do it.He apperently saw something in a store somewhere.I will ask him about it thursday night when he comes home if i can remember

i really like the magnet idea. i had a classroom when i was a teacher and the walls were all magnetic. it was so fun for the kids. we used it for all kinds of things. i hadnt thought of doing that in the playroom because i didnt know about the paint. thats really cool!
