Pressure & pains

posted 20th Jul '12
I'm almost 32 weeks pregnant and over the last 3 weeks I've had intense cervical pressure that keeps getting worse. I also have nausea, diarrhea & this really strange leg pain that started in the calf region, moved down into my feet and about 2 hours after it started, gravitated to my thighs and connects in the area of my cervix. I keep my feet/legs elevated and I'm barely ever on my feet. I'm on all the meds they can put me on to stop pre-mature labor, as I've been in it 5x since I was 15 weeks. They even started the steroid shots for baby Ava's lungs. If I go into my doctor I will end up in labor, again for sure. I always do when I get checked. So my question(s) is/are, is this normal? Have any of you felt it? Should I be concerned the meds aren't working anymore?

Hello, when I was pregnant with my son I did the same thing starting from 20 weeks. I had really bad lower back and leg cramps and was in and out of the hospital for contrations that they had to give me shots to stop. At around 32 weeks I think it was they give me the shots to help with his klungs incase they couldn't stop it anymore. I carried him two more weeks and give birth at 34 weeks and 2 days. He was 6 pounds and 6 ounces and stayed in the NICU for 14 days because of feeding problems. None of his milk was agreeing with him but when they put him on Soy bean milk he did just fine and got to come home a few days later. Ava will be just fine if she's born from this point on. She may have to stay a few extra days or so but you don't need to worry about any long term problems.

That's a lot more comforting. I know my little sister was born 34 weeks and has severe health issues. I don't want that for my munchkin. But then again, what mom does? So how is your son now?

He is 9 years old and almost as big as me. I'm waiting on my second son to be born and at the rate he's growing he will be half way there when he's born. LOL!

I'm so glad to hear that. I'm due in 3-5 weeks. Their due dates keep switching, so thankfully I've held on a lot longer than the doc thought I would be able to!
