Level 2 Ultrasound

So I go in for my Level 2 ultrasound tomorrow morning at 8:30am, wish me luck. My blood was screened and came back with a 1/200 risk for my baby having downs. They test for anomalies tomorrow. I am nervous but excited at the same time because I will be finding out the sex of my baby. Too many mixed emotions right now!

Thanks, my doc told me not to worry because lots of women get this same result and they all have healthy babies. The screening isn't an accurate test and I have been hearing left and right from several women that more than likely my baby is healthy because they too went through the same thing. But then again, us preggo women worry about everything. I am just waiting in suspense here and my stomach keeps turning and my hands keep shaking. This is the worst!

I had my level 2 U/S at 12 weeks. It's great because it lasts alot longer than a regular one. Some places even offer you a cd of the U/S. I was freaked out too with worry but all went well and I'm 39!

Take a deep breath...don't get all worked up and know that there are a very high level of false positives in theafp test. It is only precautionary and absolutley see it as a chance to get more sonos of the baby while they keep an eye on your lil one  I had this upset me too with my 2nd dd and she is just fine. She was elevated in both downs and spina bifita.
On another note I had read about weight gain too you will have those abs back shoot with yoru 1st baby it coems off easy my experience is it takes em a lil longer every time. I feel ya though cause since this lil guy I have packed on the lbs. I told db I don't care if I cry...make me finish all those reps...lol

yes, no worries i've read all of over even though you have those results your baby is still born very healthy, so don't worry everything is going to go swell.

Yes, ahh the delightful weight gain... lol. I have previous issues with weight gain pre-preggo, and I'm trying not to let it get the best of me here. But it is definitely hard, considering that it is a mental thing for me. But in the end I know it's for the baby, and after this is all said and done with I can get back on my routine and bust my ass in the gym once again and go back on my strict diet. I still go to the gym 3-4 days a week and do cardio and weight training. I also go bike riding twice a week for an hour. And the thing is I don't eat constantly and I don't eat high fatty foods but I have packed on the pounds super-duper fast. I hear women on here talk about "oh i'm 23 weeks and only gained 6 lb!" I wanna like strangle them! lol Anyway, only a little over 4 more months to go!

Thanks, I will love my baby unconditionally if anything were to happen, but it still will be very hard. I am expecting the worst but hoping for the best right now, 23 more hours to go!

Good I am glad everything is okay. Did they give u a blood screening also? If so, what was your risk?

LOL how funny this just happened to me yesterady I am sitting next to this woman waiting on my 22 week check up.And she is due in July I clearly look more pregnant then her.I have asked repeatable about this on this pg because I gained 30lbs...GIRL...lol..30 come on! The dr is not concerned said well you lost 2 the one week. Only thing is- becasue I had to wait to get insurance they start when I 1st came in not since I got pg...so its like they don't seeit as me gaining 30 lbs.I have that glucose test (another 1st time false positive test) on the 27th I am a bit concerned I am packing it on..we'll see what it says.

Yea I had the same issue. I didn't have health insurance until I was 13.5 weeks along, and that's when I first went in to see the doc. And already at that point I had gained like 6 lb or so. Pre-preggo I was 122 and now I'm 136 (which that was measured back on April 28, I'm sure I have gained more since then!). So she said I only had a 5 lb gain since the first visit on April 3. So she thinks I have only gained 5 lb, meanwhile I know I've gained 14 lb... prob by now like 17 lb. How does it pack on so fast? I just dont get it!! Where does it go?? My boobs are somewhat bigger... oh I know - my thighs and ass that just got all this new-found cellulite all over the place... oh and ya gotta love those love handles! ugh I just feel like a fatty mcfatpants! can I just fast forward to 40 weeks already?!

I got the screening the same day as the U/S. DS was 1-225 and Trisomy was 1-775. They said I tested at a 34 year old level which is great!

LMAO! Exactly! I do have ppl say you look healthier....what?lol thanks I guess I looked unhealthy before baby? I was actually proud of my abs and I had no six pack so...anyways...lol I find my wieght in the same places as you are heck if my boobs wanted to keep increasing they can but man my thighs unreal I can't get an old pair of jeans up past my knees. My oldest daughter stole all my summer clothes..which brings me to another reason why I feel like crap with the weight- I cannot findANY clothes that look flattering with my new figure. (this is my 1st summer pg all my daughters were winter babies)
so if you find some trendy maternity slip me a link...I do think it would help

I got to have a bunch of those because my heart meds were not 100% approved for pregnancy so I went in every couple of weeks to see if my baby was growing well.

I'm afraid to go into maternity stores, eeeek! I'm still wearing my pre-preggo pants, they don't button of course (I just use a hair tie, put it through the hole and loop it around on the button.. it works!) don't ask how my thunder thighs are still fitting into the size 3's and 5's cuz I have no clue! They're fitting tight though. But I know I'm going to have to eventually get my but through the maternity store. I think I will start in the maternity section at target though, because I dont plan on remaining huge after the baby so I dont want to spend a lot of money on big girls clothing! lol
