i think after listening to your story, i'm not gonna go through with the second part of the blood test for down syndrome. the level 1 u/s was perfect. so when i go next wednesday for the level 2 i'm just gonna say nope don't want that part.

I had that AFP Quad test done and my MoM hCG came back elevated so I had to have a level 2 ultrasound. It's pretty neat! They will tell you the length and weight of your baby and the sex if u want to know. I also got like 25 ultrasound photos to bring home!! I had to meet with a genetic counsler also. My OB repeated the quad screen before I had my appointment at OSU and my risk of having a baby w/downs increased but they told me not to worry also. All his measurements are perfect. If my hubby and I decide to have another baby I will not have this test done, it just added more stress to my life!! I hope all is well! I'll pray for you!!  )

So I found out that I'm having a baby GIRL... YAY!

Everything came out fine through the level 2 ultrasound except one thing, there was a small calcification on the heart. And this is a sign of downs syndrome. But everything else measured out perfectly. We're just going to keep monitoring her growth, and they say the calcification can go away or can get bigger. If it gets bigger then it can be a problem. Any of you women know about this calcification on the heart issue? Let me know please, thanks!

Yay, a girl! The calcifications usually resolve themselves so I wouldn't worry too much!

see that calcifcation on the heart thing is what they were telling me kingston has. I go in on monday to see if its larger or gone. His blood tests came back ok though so I dunno. Its all in gods hands. And once again congrats on the girl!!!!
