Ideas for a Western themed party!

DS' birthday party is in 10 days, and I need some ideas for games & such..

I already know that we're serving hot dogs, baked beans, chips, pretzels, etc. out of throw-away pie pans, since it will be between lunch & dinner, we won't need heavy foods..

We're doing "hay rides" in a wagon, using a wheelbarrow lined with garbage bags for ice & drinks, making up goodie bags out of bandanas, putting them inside of cowboy hats for all the kids..

I'm making cupcakes decorated with little toy horses/cowboys..

I need more ideas to make it fun.. We always go all-out for birthday parties, last year's was a Candy Shoppe theme, it turned out amazing.


I've been procrastinating, I don't want my baby boy to turn 4  

Get some of those things that are like... stuffed horse heads on broom handles (they're only a buck or two) and let the kids "race" around a "track" you make with little flags?

I also found the idea to "pan for gold":
Put sand in a kids' pool, bury pennies & little "treasures"
Buy dollar sifters, set a time limit, whoever finds the most prizes gets a big prize, plus all the kids get to keep what the find!


I like to have games & activities where every kid gets SOMETHING, because it makes it so much less stressful at present time, there aren't as many lil' thieves trying to steal the presents if they get their own!
