labor?

posted 18th Jul '12
so, im 40 weeks today. had an appt with my dr this morning and she did a check and im STILL 2cm dilated, but she also said my membranes were bulging, and LO has moved down even further (which i honestly thought wasn't possible to do without him actually falling out lol).

anyway, i had another membrane sweep done today and ever since i left the dr ive been feeling A LOT of pressure really low, and no matter what i do im uncomfortable. i started having contractions about 20 minutes after my appointment (started around noon) which were pretty close together and eventually got to 5 mins apart (but didn't last longer than an hour so i didn't go to L&D). now i feel like i cant even sit down because he's so low and its really painful, and anytime i try to walk or move around to see if that helps me with the discomfort i just get really bad pains. i've also had an ache in my lower back constantly and a pain in my tailbone (which my mom said is good because it means im feeling pressure in my rectum?)

does it sound like labor could be starting? ive had so many false alarms at L&D i'm starting to think he's never coming out lol.
