posted 18th Jul '12
Sorry for all these posts but when i went to the doctor today, they had said there was a lil blood in my urine? Could that be the start of losing my mucus plus(bloody show), and if so how long was it after u tested blood in ur urine did u lose it? Thanks. Plus no rude comments   first time mom and jus wondering.

No, there's no correlation. The mucous plug comes out of your cervix, and urine comes out of your urethra; two completely different openings. Did he say what kind of blood cells? Red or white? White can indicate an infection.

Mucus plug*

And I don't know what your doctor is talking about, because again, they come from two different openings.

Did.you have to be smart because she specifically asked you not to be??

Op, that's two different things. Blood in urine and the plug. I'm sure the dr ran a test and will tell you more, call tmr.

I'd get a different doctor if she said there's blood in your urine because you might be losing your plug...cause its two different holes...and no connection whatsoever...yeah I'd be getting a different doctor...when I'm smarter than my doctor, there is a problem. lol. Same with vets...

Thanks. I think she was goin to run some test, I was jus wondering what u ladies though, And then for like the last 30 mins ive been having mild cramping, people say its from getting checked but I got checked last week and I didnt cramp at all. Im goin to c how the rest of the night goes and then if it keeps on call L&D or my doctor in the morning. When she checked me both times last week and this week she said I was still 1 1/2 cm dialated.

It makes sense to me that it might be bloody show because the urethra is above the vagina, and so vaginal secretions can easily make their way into urine. Ideally, you would use a wipe before taking the sample but that isn't going to prevent that one new drop of blood from getting in there. This is why when you are on your period and must give a urine sample, a catheter is used. Been there, done it. It would be a good option if she really wanted to clear this up.

Thanks for ur feedback. I havent had no blood or mucus when i wipe yet but have had sum cramping the last hour so we will see how the rest of the night goes.
