I swear to God, it's like everyone forgot their manners at home today and took an extra Bitch Pill with their coffee this morning.

My doctor cancelled my appt today (36 1/2 weeks, supposed to be ultrasound and vaginal exam to see how prepped I am) because she got called to L&D, fine, whatever, but they had NO doctor on call who could do my appt for me, and told me they would need at least 24 hours notice to reschedule. Oh, excuse me. Where was my freaking 24 hour notice? My husband works in San Francisco, had to leave work early specifically for this appt (he's my transportation, plus he hasn't met the new doctor yet), had to clock out early and commute in two hour traffic, and while he's on his way home, I get a call I smurf you not an hour before my appt saying it's been cancelled.

Ugh. I didn't even reschedule. I don't even want to. Kaiser promised me more frequent appts as I get closer to my due date (so far I've been having them one month apart), and their care is so SO impersonal and inconsistent and now irritatingly unprofessional I just feel done with them.

That was just the beginning of this stupid bullsmurf. I'm gonna keep it relatively on topic and not even get into the rest of the crap driving me bananas today.

I understand you are frustrated, but how were they to know earlier that there was going to be an emergency?!

When they called to cancel, they should have already had another appointment in mind for you. They didn't want to reschedule you on the phone right then? Thats really weird

there is a chance for the doctor to be called into the hospital at anytime, but when I was expecting and if my OB had to leave the nurse practitioner would do the appointment and would reschedule the exam for a later date

I'm sorry that happened but she probably got called to do a delivery.....anyways I love kaiser.

Exactly. It was just so unprofessional to me. Of course a woman in labor and giving birth is more important, but just the fact that they're trying to tell me there is only ONE medically trained staff member who is qualified to look at my vagina and work US equipment in this ENTIRE hospital is just ridiculous. During business hours, no less. God forbid I'm ready to deliver at the same time another woman is, only one of us would have the doctor.

If I was getting private care, sure, completely understandable. But this is Kaiser fricking Permanente. I am actually astounded not a single soul, not a nurse or doctor on call could work the damn machine to tell me if baby is heads down or not and to deal with my bitching about intolerable heartburn.

And yeah, I figured they'd reschedule me, but she actually told me they needed at least a 24 hour notice to schedule me a new appt. An hour before my appt. And that they would call me back to set it up.

This is the last incident with Kaiser I can deal with. They make me want to rip my hair out.

And the icing on the cake, McDonald's tried to charge me a quarter for BBQ sauce today. Furreal.
